Gingerbread Garland

I have an opportunity to share a tutorial at Splitcoaststampers this week for our annual Falliday Fest of tutorial ideas and challenges. I created this Gingerbread Garland from a template that you can download and accent with white doodling and stamps from various sets.

See my full tutorial with the easy template download HERE

This is a great activity to share with your kids and cousins over the holidays! Anything goes and super fun!

Wishing You a Joyous Christmas from Papertrey Ink

Kicking off the weekend with very exciting news! I am so happy to be a Guest Designer for Papertrey Ink and Ink to Paper this month! It’s a Christmas Holiday release, and I can’t wait to share my Christmas cards and projects with you!

My first card features the set Corner It: Holly. The gorgeous vine and accent pieces make easy work of a full card front design. A soft brushed layer of pale blue frames the holly sprigg, leaf and berries. I’ve added the sentiment in gold embossing powder and a layer of gold foil for a classic Christmas feel.

I’m grateful to the Ink to Paper team for the opportunity to create with them this month. I have more favorite projects to share in the coming days. So many wonderful things in this release! You’ll be thrilled to finish your Christmas crafting so early! Thank you for stopping by!

Happy Winter

Sharing one of my favorite projects from my guest design time with Concord and 9th. Happy Winter!

I chose to pair the Happy Winter turnabout stamp with Fresh Cut Floral Dies edition 4, the poinsettia. None traditional pastel pinks and greens are an unexpected freshness to this classic holiday look. I love how this came together.

The Concord & 9th colors I used on this project are Ballet Slipper, Grapefruit, Sea Glass, and Parsley.

It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas

What a fabulous way to kick off the weekend! I am happy to share the Festive Friends Bundle from Concord and 9th today!

It’s about to be busy, busy season, and I’m still looking forward to lots of holiday crafting in this time of COVID Christmas preparations. I loved this sentiment because it’s great to send a friend early in the holidays to make them smile when their to-do list is still undoubtedly long.

The set is made for easy-to-execute coloring, and the matching dies line up like a dream!

My image was colored with Polychromos Pencils. A simple snow-spatter background makes this an awesome design for creating in multiples.

How many cards do you typically send? I think I’m certainly good for 10-12 in this layout, and I know I have that many girl friends who would get a little lift with these words in early December.

Have a GREAT weekend!

PEACE, LOVE & JOY

Tuesday is not my favorite. I don’t know many people who do like a Tuesday, so today I’m pushing this post with a big, bright PEACE, LOVE & JOY made with the Iconic Christmas Turnabout from Concord & 9th.

I’ve paired the Iconic Christmas Turnabout with Parsley, Honeysuckle, Stardust, and Aqua Sky for a fun background that pops!

I do love the beautiful coverage of the C9 inks – so rich and even.

That’s my share for a Tuesday – PEACE, LOVE & JOY.

Make it a great day, friends.

Seasonal Sayings from Concord & 9th

I’m sharing one of my favorite cards from the Concord & 9th Holiday Release today. This pretty aqua Hanukkah card created with a banner and leaf die from the Seasonal Sayings die collection.

I brushed Aqua Sky ink over the bottom half of the candles for depth and spritzed them with Sheer Shimmer Sparkle before adding them to the white card front with a simple embossed frame.

I love the crisp, clean look of the fonts in this set, and I had a ton of fun creating. There is a perfect combination of sizes that allow the words to take center stage or add a special message to your creative design.

My second card with the Seasonal Sayings Bundle features my beloved rainbow of color with crisp contrast to the white card front.

After adhering my sentiment and holly, I sprayed the entire card front with adhesive glitter, and it sparkles and shines. Very clean, and still shimmery! <3

Thanks for visiting today. There are so many beautiful options in the Concord & 9th Holiday Release, and I hope you are inspired to use dies in a fun way.

Have a beautiful Monday!

Merry Mantles from Concord & 9th

Yes. I’m aware that you’ve just placed pumpkins on your mantle and found the box of faux autumn leaves, but it’s time for Christmas crafting! Sharing the Merry Mantle Bundle from Concord & 9th today!

Coloring these stockings reminded me that making stockings was one of the things I was going to do this year. Our family has stockings at my mom’s house, but I’ve never made them to hang at home. The girls are both in college, so the time is right, am I right? Anyway, I didn’t do it because #2020.

I colored my stockings with Polychromos Pencils. I was asked this week if I preferred the Polychromos Pencils to Prismacolor, and I **SO** do prefer them. They blend so beautifully, and the color is so vibrant. I do use Gamsol for a little blending here and there, but the pencils really do most of the work.

My second card with Merry Mantles features the wreath. It’s easy to color, just vary your shades of green for depth and variety. The stamp and the die both have an outward notch to make the die line up easy, and it was a breeze – cuts beautifully.

I used the new Candy Stripe Background and Aqua Sky ink to create the pretty, soft plaid. Love the contrast of the Aqua Sky and the green of the wreath. I also used a brayer to smooth the ink on the stamp.

I finished off both cards with stamps and die sentiments from the Seasonal Sayings Bundle. I love the crisp, clean look of these fonts – both the stamps and the dies.

Many thanks to Concord & 9th for having me as a guest designer this month. It’s been a great month of fun creative time, and I’ve loved working with these products. Don’t take that as an “I’m finished” because I still have more to share tomorrow!

Happy Friday! Thanks for stopping by!

More Concord & 9th JOY

JOY to the WORLD! Sharing more 2020 Holiday Collection from Concord & 9th today. I’ve used the Joy to the World Bundle. This big JOY word die is designed to make the front panel of a tri-fold card, or as a stand-alone focal point on a full card-front, as I’ve done here.

I created my background by blending Concord & 9th colors: Aqua Sky, Oceanside, and Peacock on Bristol Smooth cardstock. The background was then splattered with white gouache and spritzed with a clear sparkle before adding JOY to the WORLD and snowflakes cut from the Iconic Christmas Dies.

I hope you’ve penciled in some time for crafting this week. It’s been a great escape from crazy for me! Thanks for stopping by, and I’ll be back to share more soon!

Iconic Christmas from Concord & 9th

How about some good old fashioned traditional JOY!? I think we all need that right now! Today, I’m sharing two cards with the new Concord & 9th Iconic Christmas Turnabout stamp set!

The turnabouts make beautiful fast backdrops for cards and tags. You simply ink up, stamp, quarter turn your cardstock and switch ink colors, then repeat. You can add four different colors. Here I’ve showcased Concord & 9th colors: Parsley, Clover, Wheat and Cranberry for a traditional Christmas. I find the squares easiest to work with in my MISTI with the turnabout stamps. I simply trim to preferred size after stamping.

After stamping my background, I added JOY from the 2020 Holiday Joy Bundle and a pretty poinsettia created with Fresh Cut Floral Dies – edition 4.

Square cards require extra postage, so keep that in mind, but I think it’s worth it sometimes for a special greeting. I may end up framing this one and just forego the extra postage. LOL

My second card also features the Iconic Christmas Turnabout, but this time I used only a white ink for a subtle backdrop for the coordinating diecut baubles from Iconic Christmas Dies.

MERRY • MERRY Christmas! It’s not too early to start creating, and your December self will be so happy you crafted early!

Thanks for stopping by. More to share soon!

Merry Christmas

First I stamped my wreath with Old Paper Distress Ink on Neenah 110# Classic Crest Solar White cardstock and colored with Polychromos Pencils for a no-line coloring effect.

After coloring, I added some score lines to create a frame around the edge, popped up a second wood sign, and added sequins for just a bit of shimmer to finish my card.
