Spring Forward

A hard refresh (COMMAND-R for Mac lovers or CTRL-F5 on PC) will ensure you are seeing the latest post on this blog.

It’s Kraftin Kimmie’s March Release Hop & Shop! If I’m your first stop, you can start at the beginning of the hop HERE.  If you’ve just come from Annie, the fabulous Miss Moonlight Whispers, then you’re right where you should be.

All of the Kraftin Kimmie images I’ve used the last few days (and several adorable things that I didn’t!) are now available.  If you decide you like an entire line, you can choose to purchase a Gimme Kimmies Kit (at a discount).  Be sure to leave comments as you hop. There are some prizes up for grabs! Your next stop on the Kraftin’ Kimmie Hop & Shop is Andrea!

My card today was inspired by a plea from my friend Eva to will spring’s arrival to all corners of our country. ‘Let’s sprinkle a few butterflies around blogland’, she said. It’s been a long, hard winter, but after today it’s spring forward, baby.

You Glow, Girl!

Whew! What a week! Here we are on the final day of sneak peeks for Kraftin’ Kimmie Stamps, who made me feel like a rock star by asking me to be a guest designer this month. Today, I am sharing Caroline, the pregnant Moonlight Whisper. Isn’t she darling?

It’s no secret that I love my Copic Markers, but sometimes you want something a little less time-consuming. Like, say, if you needed to make 20 baby shower invites. Hopefully, this image stamped in pink chalk ink and accented with glitter will spark some ideas for you to use those line art stamps in a different way.

It’s Kraftin’ Kimmie’s team challenge day, and that means there is a great prize up for grabs at the Kraftin’ Kimmie blog this weekend, as well as the release tomorrow! Fun stuff! I’ll be back at midnight for the Kraftin’ Kimmie team blog hop. I can’t wait to see how each designer uses one of her favorite images from this release.

I’m off and running ~ literally. My daughter’s class is sponsoring a 5K run this morning to raise money a local charity connected to both her school and our church. I started running last summer, and this will be my fourth 5k race since October. Running has really been so much more than shoes to pavement for me in the last few months, and I’m working on a post to share my story…soon. For today, I’ve got my sneakers on, and I’m off!

Have a wonderful weekend.

Crazy Cake

Did I mention earlier in the week that I adore so many of these Moonlight Whispers girls, ‘twistie girls’ as my friend, Michele calls them,  from Kraftin’ Kimmie? I’ve got a sweet treat sneak peek for you today! Meet Agnes. I don’t know about you, but there’s not a whole lot of mini skirt and tube socks cooking going on around here… Who am I kidding? There’s not a whole lot of any kind of cooking this week… none-the-less, I think she’s darling, and so fun to color!

I have several old Grange cookbooks that I rescued from my grandma’s sale when she moved off of the farm. They aren’t that sentimental to me because my grandma didn’t use them all that much to cook from, but I love looking through 16 pages of tuna surprise casserole recipes from 1964 and ripping a page out now and then for one card or another. Do you know anyone that could use a Crazy Cake?

The rest of Kimmie’s fabulous girls and guest are previewing other sweet Moonlight Whisper images today. Check out the Kraftin’ Kimmie blog for a full run down. I’m having a ton of fun stamping with them this week!

I’ve got a full Friday planned… work, a haircut, lunch with my parents, and tonight it’s the annual Knights of Columbus all-you-can-eat shrimp boil. Yep, big time in a small town, I tell ya. Hope your day is filled with wonderful!

Thanks for stopping by!

Yo!

I’m back this morning with another quick peek from Kraftin’ Kimmie’s release that is coming up this Sunday. Meet Barnacle Brad! I’ve got a few little guys in my life, and this will be a great ‘happy birthday’ for one of them! I don’t get to stamp for little boy’s too often, so this was fun.

Barnacle Brad’s colored with Copics and paired up with October Afternoon’s Swim Trunks & Beach Chair from the Seaside patterned paper collection.

I had forgotten how therapeutic it is to just cut and color and glue…this has been a fun week for me! I’ve still got a short stack of things I’d like to play with, so maybe I’ll find a little bit of time tonight after Idol for some more therapy.

Have a great day!

the Heart Afraid of Breaking

When Kimmie Reid asked me if I would like to be a guest designer for Kraftin’ Kimmie Stamps this month, I was so excited! I love her Moonlight Whisper girls, and I knew it would be fun.

Today, Kimmie’s team and her guest designers are previewing Krafty Quotes #2, a line that was introduced last month with sentiments perfect for card making and scrapbooking. I loved this line from an always favorite song, ‘The Rose’ by Bette Midler. You can find links to more samples with today’s sentiments here on the Kraftin’ Kimmie blog.

My sentiment is stamped on Poison Ivory shimmery cardstock with chocolate chalk ink and cut with a label die. The patterned papers are from SEI’s Moonrise Collection, and the ivory rose is from a Tim Holtz assortment. The shimmery brads were white, but I airbrushed them with YR24 to match my patterned paper.

Thanks for stopping by! I’ll be back tomorrow with more Kraftin’ Kimmie cuties. As for the rest of Wednesday? I’ll be cooking BBQ Pork, Baked Beans and Cole Slaw for my church family. We’re planning to serve 120 people around 5:00 – go ahead and stop by, I’d love to see you.

Happy Day!

Kiss Me, I’m Irish!

A hard refresh (COMMAND-R for Mac lovers or CTRL-F5 on PC) will ensure you are seeing the latest post on this blog.

I received a whole lotta cute twine in the mail this week, and twine (or floss) happens to be the Kraftin’ Kimmie Saturday challenge today! Was I ever excited when Miss Kimmie asked me to play, and I had a whole lot of fun putting this together. I’m also excited to be ahead of schedule for yet another birthday card. I said, AHEAD! I know! I can’t believe it either.

I thought that Polly might be perfect for a dear friend with a St. Patty’s birthday. Polly’s colored with Copics and then cut with Labels 4 Nestabilities. I like to use twine (or floss) on cards because it’s thin. I can wrap it around my card multiple times for interest and not add any extra bulk.

Jeanne is the hostess for this week’s twine challenge. You can see other inspiration samples here, and if you’d like to play along, you can load *your* cards here. One lucky player will win the sweet, Stella Strawberry.  I think she’s got to be my favorite Kimmie image ever. Pull our your twine, and let’s see what you’ve got!?

I’ll be stamping today if you want to stop by! Have a great weekend!
