You Make Me Smile

Just a quick post this morning to share a sweet little notecard that I made for the Crafty Friends Challenge. The challenge was to utilize dry embossing, and immediately my mind went back to light boxes, brass templates and a stylus. I cranked this out with a Spellbinders M-Bossabilities plate. We’ve come a LONG way, baby!

I really enjoy clean and simple notecards with a short sentiment (Grand Sentiments – Justrite Papercrafts). They are perfect to have on hand for those last minute needs, and a little something like dry embossing or a fancy die cut shape gives it a little punch factor. The dies are from Spellbinders.

We have another busy day here today with church and a family dinner, so I’m going to peek at the other girls’ cards and get going! Hope you have time to check out: CharmaineNinaLinda and Beate.

Have a great day!

P.S. I have been stamping up a storm today for Hope You Can Cling To challenges, so I’ll be back soon!

12 Days of Christmas

Quick post today in between the hustle-and-bustle of work and my crazy ole family-life! My friend Kellie from JustRite is hosting a Christmas Linky Party with 7 days of ideas. I had time on Sunday to play with O Christmas Tree.  What fun!

I love the detail of the words to 12 Days of Christmas in this tree. The whole tree is only 2 1/4″ tall. Isn’t that gorgeous wording in the image? LOVE it. The green trees were punched from pattern paper with the Stampin’ Up! mini pennant punch. The stump was stamped from another image in the set. Easy. Peasy.

You can easily join the fun with the Linky Party! All of the details are HERE!

  • Stamps: O Christmas Tree – JustRite Stampers
  • Cardstock: Shimmery White & Crate Papers
  • Ink: Pomegranate and Espresso inks – Stampin’ Up!
  • Accs: scallop border die – MFT Dienamics, pennant stamp – Stampin’ Up!, flower, twine and bling (Hero Arts)

Fabulous Birthday

I received some happy mail yesterday, and I set straight to work on my CPS Sketch sample for the week. LOVE the October fall release from JustRite Stampers. The doilies, the sentiment and label are from 3 different sets (Grandma’s Doilies, Be Strong, and You Inspire Me), and I love them all!

Our CPS Sketch was sponsored this week, by my friends at Want2Scrap. I never have trouble working with their awesome accent and bling products. They worked so well with this sketch! I adore those nylon butterflies! Thank you to Michele and her team for providing us with such affordable pretties!

We had a beautiful weekend here. I enjoyed a laid back time with friends and my family. I’m not quite ready to hit the office in the morning, but with Hope You Can Cling To for breast cancer awareness in full swing at Splitcoast, I’ll be there bright and early! If you haven’t checked out Hope You Can Cling To yet, get a load of these awesome prizes from 32 amazing sponsors. Participation is simply stamping to support our friends at MD Anderson Cancer Center. It’s super easy. This card is another perfect fit for my challenge last week: BLING!

Have a beautiful Sunday! See you tomorrow!

  • Stamps: Grandma’s Doilies, Be Strong, and You Inspire Me – JustRite Stampers
  • Cardstock: Kraft & My Mind’s Eye
  • Ink: Mix’d Media Inks & Berrylicious Chalk – Clearsnap
  • Accs: Label Dies – MFT, Bling and Butterfly – Want2Scrap, detail embossing powder

Thank You So Much

I’m hopping with my good friend, Sharon, and a few of the Copic girls with a sample for the JustRite Color Challenge this morning. I love challenges, for sure. Sharon asked us to create a card using colors from the inspiration photo. I was also drawn to the texture.

I consider this another clean and simple card…something that is key for me to practice if I’m ever going to send any cards out in the mail. I think I’m actually sending this one in a padded envie, one of those clear acetate card boxes would be pretty, too and really make the recipient take notice.

For my card, I used You’re So Sweet, which might be my favorite JustRite set sever. Pretty graphics and BEAUTIFUL fonts with simple and gracious sentiments ~ Thinking of you, Thank you, You’re So Sweet and Just Because. I’ll be grabbing this over and over.

Here’s your inspiration photo. I’m antsy to see what the other girls created today:

As for other things in my life, I’m very happy with the American Idol vote last night, and I’m gearing up for a wild weekend. It’s going to be slam packed with family activities for the girls, and I’m already thinking a Monday morning nap will be looking awfully good. Have a good one, and I’ll see you really soon!

honey, i’m home…

I cannot tell you how excited I was to tuck my cherubs into bed and stamp last night. It’s been a busy few months around here, and I think things are finally coming back to a semblance of normal. What is normal?

At any rate I’m thrilled to be back. Welcome to the 11th week of JustRite Stampers’ Wednesday feature, 12 Weeks of Christmas Blog Hops! Every Wednesday up until Thanksgiving some of your favorite designers will be joining some of the JustRite design team for a series of Christmas blog hops, showcasing JustRite’s entire Christmas Collection of stamps! This week, the designers joining the JustRite design team are the Stampers Dream design team and a few other special guests!

I chose this darling snowman from JustRite’s Old Fashioned Christmas set and paired him with Echo Park papers. I love these EP collections. He’s colored with Copic Markers, individual colors shown below. Notice I have two different E35 markers? That is because it’s one of my most used colors, and I like having different nib sizes available to me. 🙂 My sentiment from the Nested Sentiment and Verse set was stamped on kraft cardstock and cut with my Spellbinders’ mitten dies.

I wanted to make sure and pass along a note from JustRite: In celebration of JustRite’s Christmas Blog Hops, they have a huge surprise for you — take 25% off All JustRite Original Christmas Stamps now through November 29, with free shipping on orders over $50 — Don’t forget to tell Santa!

Please visit these designers’ blogs to see what fabulous JustRite Christmas inspiration they have for you on the hop today!

Merry & Bright Faker Shaker

Welcome to JustRite Stampers’ 12 Weeks of Christmas Blog Hops #6!   Every Wednesday up until Thanksgiving some of your favorite designers will be joining some of the JustRite design team for a series of Christmas blog hops, showcasing JustRite’s entire Christmas Collection of stamps!  This week, it’s most of my friends from the  Copic team!  How fun is that?

I chose to make a faker shaker card because I love the look, but I don’t have the patience! I started with JustRite’s Groovy Snowman set and the Christmas Nested Sentiments. After the pieces were all colored, I added some white Sparkly Fluff to my snowgirl. I cut circles (both scalloped and plain) with my Nestabilities and an opening in the brown layer to make the frame. I cut a second scalloped circle from the same scalloped circle die and stacked it between the suede brown scalloped layer and the colored layer. The result is a ‘glass’ window with a shaker card effect.

Please visit these designers’ blogs to see what fabulous Christmas projects they have for you on the hop today! The fun starts at the JustRite Inspiration blog, followed by:

I knew when I saw the new JustRite catalog that I would really enjoy this new Stitched with Love sewing set. It’s just perfect for several of the special women in my life who tend to get really crafty with a needle and thread.

I stamped my image in Rich Cocoa Memento Ink and colored with Copic Markers. Then I cut my layered circles and petite scalloped circle dies with Spellbinders Nestabilities. Notice how this set coordinates perfectly with Cosmo Cricket Material Girl? SWOON.

I’m glad you stopped by today. Remember, blog comments for Day Two will be open until Friday at 6pm EST.  On Saturday, JustRite will announce on their blog which five blogs have the mystery candy for Day Two.  You will need to go to the JustRite blog to determine where you need to go to find out if you are one of the five lucky winners

JustRite: Garden Tour Blog Hop

poppies.jpg

I had some blog issues yesterday, but I’m back, and I was delighted to be invited to join the uber-talented JustRite design team on today’s blog hop celebrating the release of their beautiful new floral stamp images. I choose the poppy image from their new Plant a Little Love set. Love these new floral images. 🙂

poppies-close.jpg

My poppies and background are colored with Copic Markers (YR04, YR16, YG91, YG93, YG95, BG10, BG11, W1) and accented with Spica Glitter pens. My medallion border is stamped and embossed in Chocolate Chip. The paper poppy was created from pages of an old heros school book that I picked up at the thrift store for 25 cents back before Christmas. All of my elements are layered on Spellbinders scalloped circles and labels. The paper is BoBunny Kitchen Spice.

I’m supposed to finish prepping and be packing today. Looking forward to a great trip to sunny, Southern California. Sunny would be the keyword. Huge rainstorms there this week. I’m hoping it all blows over by Thursday.

Naughty or Nice…Check it Twice

 notepads-lcraig.jpg

Continuing with Christmas today on the JustRite Mega Font Blog Hop … I promised my mom a few weeks ago that I would make a few things for her to contribute to the annual craft bazaar that is coming up. I thought these little list pads would be cute for her to take.

Last year, I realized that I liked mixing my JustRite fonts (on sale thru 9/24) with fun stamp images and sentiments for one of a kind tags on Christmas gifts and packaging.

notepad-lcraig-091709b.jpg

I loved this stamp image of these little children sneaking down the stairs with their candles, stockings in tow (CHF). I started with Poison Ivory cardstock, and using my JustRite 1 5/8″ round stamper and the Small Letter Set, I created a custom sentiment, ‘naughty or nice…check it twice‘, stamped in dark brown around the outside of my circle. Then I filled in the center with the candle image from Merry Little Christmas  in lighter, latte colored ink.  Over the top of that, I stamped Welcome Christmas Time (CHF) in Real Red ink. The ivory circle is punched with a 1 3/4″ circle punch and layered on the Marvy scalloped circle punch (super jumbo).

These list pads are made from 5″x8″ inch legal pads that I had cut in half at the local office supply. You can view the full tutorial on how to cover your own at Splitcoast.  The patterned paper is from the Merry Moments pack at Stampin’ Up!

I’m glad to have this project checked off of my Christmas list, but I think I’ll be making a few more lists in the next few days. They are too easy.

I’m sure you are enjoying all of the JustRite projects today. I love seeing how many different people use similar items to create totally unique projects. For sure,  I’m going to take a peek and take notes! You can see projects using many different JustRite fonts by visiting these fabulous bloggers:

Just Rite Christmas Blog Hop

 snowflakes-full.jpg

Today, we’re celebrating with a JustRite Christmas Blog Hop. There is a master list of ‘hoppers’ at the bottom of this post, and I know you’ll find plenty of inspiration and want to get moving on your Christmas projects now..not December 14th.  You know you’ll want to be attending festivities, watching your tree lights twinkle and enjoying your family when Christmas rolls around. Save yourself some stress and get going now.

snowflakes-close.jpg

I used the sentiment ‘snowflakes are winter’s butterlies‘  from Merry Little Christmas Borders & Centers and created a tag for an altered wooden snowflake ornament.  I stamped the sentiment and center snowflake with Memento Inks (brown and sand) twice on Poison Ivory cardstock then accented with Dazzling Diamonds (ultrafine from Stampin’ Up!) glitter. The circles were cut with Small Circle Nestabilities. The circles are adhered to a Petite Scalloped Circle of Suede Dark Brown Prism. So, when the tag hangs freely and spins, you have the same thing on both sides. A short piece of linen thread is attached in the middle of the cardstock layers. This is where I was glad that I use Zip Dry liquid paper adhesive. The liquid grabs right onto the linen thread and holds tight. I just used 2 clothespins to hold the layers together while the glue dried. It was all set and ready to finish with in about 5-7 minutes. Love the stuff.
