How about some cute BOOs?

I’m all for cute BOOs, and the new Taylored Expressions release delivers!

I’m really a cutsey (not creepy) Halloween type of person! I G-G-Ghost Stamp & Stencil Combo with the Ghost Gang Die and Clear Combo pair perfectly for adorable quick greetings!

Here I’ve used the stamp and stencil combo in pretty purples – light ink blending in Macaron and Dried Fig for a ghostly base and added the cute Boo Backer die in Oreo with clear Happy Medium gel for sparkle. Finally, my little Ghost Gnag friend is soaring to new heights with a little Mini Wobble.

If you like my card, you’ll love the BOO BUNDLE! Right now through Sunday, August 14th, when you purchase the Boo Bundle (Boo Script + Backer die collection, G-G-G-Ghost Stamp & Stencil Combo set, and Ghost Gang Die & Clear Combo set), you will get Bits & Pieces – Halloween Stars & Sparkles FREE! It’s great bundle to jump start your Halloween crafting! Offer valid while supplies last.

I had a ton of fun making shaker and interactive cards for this release. Here, I paired the Mini Slim Infinity Shaker with Eat Drink and Be Scary! I use the MISTI stamp positioner to arrange the stamp, and inked up one section at a time to get different colors of ink across the panel. My shaker is full of spiders cut from the Little Bits Spider Die. So fun!

In saving my favorite for the end, I love the new Foil It Spider Web panels paired with the Boo Backer word die and Little Bit Spiders. It’s the perfect clean and simple card because the foil does all of the work!

I used the Star Foil with the Minc Foil Machine to create the background. The Boo Backer word was cut with TE Sticky Sheets and the covered with foil for a fun sparkly twist. I think the Petite Scallop layer just adds to the fun!

Finally, this week, adding to the Halloween cute-ness, Gus and Gertie are back…and FREE! Here I’ve used the Circle Stencil with Macaron Premium Ink and Clear Happy Medium to create the background and framed Gus and Gertie with Frame-in-Frame 3 for a fun whimsy look. So quick and cute… FREE – details below.

This week only our FREE gift with any $100+ purchase is the Gus & Gertie – Halloween Stamp & Die Combo set! This adorable set features our favorite dog Gus and his buddy Gertie the bird dressed up as a bat for Halloween! The set also includes more bats and three Halloween sentiments along with dies to cut out the images. Offer valid while supplies last.

Are you loving the Halloween cuteness as much as I am? I’ve got more to share all week. Follow me on Instagram for Halloween cards all week!

Hey, Sunshine

Hey, Sunshine! Yes, I’m talking to you! 😉

Sharing previously released EXCLUSIVES today for Taylored Expressions, and these have been some of my favorite products and cards created in a while! All of the goodies I’ve used are linked below.

With a variety of staple dies and sentiments, you’ll reach for these staples over and over again. I’m loving the ability to pull these timeless exclusives out of my stash

My first card features my well-loved Gel Press, Speedball Brayer, and Pinata Inks. Here I used the PInata Alcohol Inks on the Gel Press to create an abstract background that I lifted with White Acrylic Paint onto Gel Press Paper. I just sprinkle the inks on the Gel Press, shift them around by rolling the brayer over the top and then use the Air Puff Tool to dry the top of the plate. Once that random layer of inks is dry, drop one drop of white paint in the center of the mess and spread it out to a think layer with your brayer. While the white paint is wet, cover the plate with a piece to Taylor’s Gel Press Paper, and rub over the top of the surface with the Just Press Tool or the palm of your hand. Lift while the paint is still wet to reveal a masterpiece.

TIP: When choosing colors, look for 3-4 colors that connect to each other on the color wheel for seamless, beautiful blends.

After pulling my print, I stamped the single word SUNSHINE from Building Blocks: Ring Around the Word. I cut that piece with Modern Label dies (LOVE THESE!) and added that to the sweet HEY from Ring Around the Word dies. The scallop die-cut border from Frame-in-Frame 3 fits perfection. I applied clear Happy Medium to my white die cut pieces and allowed to dry. Then, I simply stacked all the pieces together, off-setting the big HEY focal point and added white Tiny Diamonds.

I’m in love with the Modern Sentiment Label dies. Here I’ve embossed a beautiful sentiment from Anytime Expressions in gold and added the sentiment over a layer of leaves cut from the Tropical Leaves dies. Using the soft TE Blending Brushes, I blended ink in a variety of Mint Julep, Lime Zest, Sprinkles, and Salt Water Taffy Premium Inks on the leaves cut from Sugar Cube cardstock. I layered these over a white panel cut with the Pierced Diamonds Cutting Plate and added Clear Drip Drops. Inside I stamped a sentiment from The Inside Scoop: Sympathy.

Candy Cane Lane

The weather outside is frightful, and the AC is so delightful. Since there’s no place to go, let creativity flow, let it flow, let if flow. Welcome to Christmas in July with the adorable and exclusive Candy Cane Lane Kit from Taylored Expresssions!

I loved creating with this kit. The candy canes are the PERFECT size, and the stripes stencil makes it easy to add stripes and to line up the dies for perfect cuts. So fun!

Here, the candy canes take center stage. I could be making candy canes for days as the stencil is slightly oversized from the candy cane die. This makes it so easy to line the die up and cut with perfect alignment. I love how the entire candy cane is colored with no white edges around the color.

I’ve paired the candy canes with a sweet holly backdrop in Mint Julep and Pink Champagne colors on a Petite Scallop Rectangle layer and added circle window. I added a few splatters of snow with Sugar Cube pigment ink spritz of glimmer using the TE Shimmer Liquid Watercolor.

For my 2nd card, I arranged the candy canes in a heart pattern on the holly backdrop and accented with the Sweet Stripes Cutting Plate. I chose a more traditional Cherry Pop red and Granny Smith green for this card, and I love the bright vibes but I’ll be using the Sweet Stripes cutting plate again and again with a variety of colors.

My candy canes and sentiment are embossed with the new Peppermint Red Embossing Powder. The bright, vibrant red of this embossing powder is gorgeous, and it’s got some scented flecks in it that smell so good when heated up. You’ll be loving the smell and craving cocoa while you craft.

Also speaking of peppermint, don’t miss the adorable peppermint embellishments. They are perfect for a shaker card or accents. So sweet, but not edible – for decoration only. 🙂

Catch a quick peek of the glitter envelopes included in this month’s kit. The glitter is smooth to the touch on these, and I consider them a treat. So shiny and gorgeous. The perfect wrapping for a special card.

Do you see my Christmas tags coming together? I’ll try to finish those up and share soon! Love how easy it is to create with another Taylored Expressions Kit. This versatile collection of goodies is available while supplies last. So do not delay if you want to get started on your holiday crafting!

Get those cards in the mail!

Anyone else with just a tad bit of anxiety over actually mailing a card you’ve spent 2 hours making? Will it arrive? Will it arrive safely?

I have some fun new Taylored Expressions products to share today that help protect and instruct mail carriers I love for my cards to arrive in style, and I love that Taylored Expressions has a line of products that make it cute.

The Milky Pop white gel pen is one of my favorites for bright TE Preimum Envelopes. The ink really does POP off of the paper, and it’s an unexpected look that says, something different is inside this envelope! And, the craft washi tape and Rainbow Sticky Pads keep me on point!

NON-MACHINEABLE is the preferred wording over hand-cancel to the USPS, so the Share Joy stamps is perfect. I simply line the individual stamps up in my MISTI and stamp them several times. They make an accent that stands apart from the hand-written address and still looks cute!

Flap Fiair is great for finishing off the back of my envelopes, then I add a cute TE Envelope Seal. It is are good to go! Helps the USPS know how to handle my card, and it lets the recipient know immediately that someone other than the utility company is thinking of them!

Get those cards in the mail, my friends!

The Bee’s Knees Stamp and Stencil Combo pair perfectly for an adorable backdrop to so many different sentiments in your collection. I chose Boho Hellos from the TE June release, YOU ARE AMAZING.

Using the wing stencil, I first created the wings with Oyster Premium Ink and Blender Brushes on Sugar Cube cardstock. To give the wings an iridescent shimmer, I added TE Happy Medium. Love the Happy Medium because it dries smooth without tack, and adds just the right about of shine.

This is my favorite kind of card to make – a clean and simple layout with an unexpected punch or two. The shimmer wings add just enough interest for the recipient to tilt the card back and forth several times. I finished my panel with a large scallop layer from Frame in Frame 2 cut from Oreo cardstock and Black Drip Drops.

I can’t wait to stick this into one of the fun black envelopes with cute seal (both included in the kit!) and address this one to an amazing friend with the Milky White Gel Pen. AH-MAY-ZING

My personal favorite from the Bee’s Knees Kit is the adorable honeycomb die. So many options to use the honeycomb by itself, adding the inset hex pieces back into the honeycomb piece, or even use the honeycomb piece as a stencil. I’ve created my hive using Banana Cream Pie, Pineapple, and Honey cardstock. It’s the perfect backdrops for sweet diecut bees created with the clear stamp set included in the kit.

Again, another sweet sentiment from a June release, I’ll be using hello, sunshine over and over. In another favorite design style, I’ve put my bees and beehives together on a Pierced Lattice Cutting Plate backdrop cut from Sugar Cube. I finished it all off with a Sugar Cube frame from the June Free with $100 set and Clear Drip Drops.

So, with that, I’ll wish you a bee happy kind of day! If you like this kit, please do not delay, it will sell out!

Four Fun Foil It Projects

The Taylored Expressions team is sharing fabulous Foil It projects today. Talk about the fastest WOW! card you’ve ever made! You’ll love these new Foil It panels for instant classy cards. Pair them with a simple sentiment, and you are well on your way to beautiful handmade cards that are sure to make the recipient feel loved.

I have four cards to share today, and all of the products I’ve used are linked below.

I think the Foil It panels offer striking simplicity. Here I have partnered the Foil It: Mini Slim Spring Spray panel with Foil It: On Occasion sentiments. I love the gold pairing with the red poppies that are colored with OLO alcohol marker. Peaches and Cream cardstock cut from Petite Scalloped Mini Slim Stacklets made the perfect backdrop for my simple panel. It’s finished off with a few Gold Drip Drops.

I loved the Foil It: Mini Slim Bontanical panels with rich fall colors. I used the coordinating masking stencil to blend Avocado Premium Dye Ink in the center opening, and finished the card with the scripted With Sympathy sentiment from the Mini Slim Botanical Sentiments.

I added splatters using Chocolate Truffle Premium Dye Ink and a small paintbrush plus Gold Drip Drops before raising the panel with foam strips on a Toffee Cardstock base.

The one thing I love about the Foil It panels is how easy they are to use. I do think the heat applicator makes a difference. I started my foiling journey several years ago with a 3M Laminator, and then upgraded to a Royal Sovereign laminator. Neither machine gave me consistent results. Last fall I purchased the Minc Machine from TE, and I’ve been so, so happy. I get beautiful results with the full variety of foil colors that Taylored Expressions offers. The Minc was a solid investment. If you are in the market for a Minc, I’ve mentioned a special for that machine at the end of this post.

If you are loving the foil look, check out this special from TE:

Through Sunday, June 26th, purchase 5 or more Foil It packs from Taylored Expressions and get a free metallic foil (our choice of Silver, Gold, Rose Gold, or Copper) FREE! It’s a great time to stock up and collect the Foil It packs that you have had on your wish list! Offer good while supplies last.

I love stained glass windows, and the Foil It: Right Angle panels and coordinating stencils help you create an effortless stained glass look.

Here, Candy Corn, Lollipop, and Pineapple Premium Inks create the soft look of stained glass, and the foiled lines create the leading. After cutting my panel with the Arched Stacklet Die, I softened the look by adding it over a Sugar Cube cardstock panel that was embossed with Floral Vine Embossing Folder. A few sprigs from the Branch Out die and a gold embossed With Sympathy finish this off.

One of my favorite TE dies is the Thanks die and backer plate. It is a simple, beautiful finish for so many cards. Here I’ve put it over the Foil It: Paradise panel that is colored with OLO alcohol markers.

The frame on this card is part of the Free with $100 promotion die for June. I LOVE this die set – it’s a beautiful way to finish and frame card edges.

Life is Better in the Summer

My creative life is certainly better this summer as I join the Taylored Expressions Design Team for regular monthly releases! I’m so excited to be joining this group, and to work with fabulous products. It’s been so inspiring, and I can’t wait to share my products for this week’s summer release! The new products are available NOW with a full shopping list at the bottom of my post!

I am kicking off my release projects with the fantastic Pool Party stamp set and stencil. I used Colbalt Teal Open Acrylic paint and my gel plate to create a great water background and floating oasis for my sun-loving cuties.

The background was created with a layer of acrylic paint on the gel plate, spread smooth, and I topped it off with the Pool Party stencil. I used a piece of bubble wrap with small bubbles to lift paint from the open areas of the stencil, they I pulled back the stencil and let the whole thing dry on my gel press. When it was dry, I used a thin layer of white acrylic paint and Gel Press Paper to “lift” the print. So fun!

My Pool Party patrons are colored with Polychromos colored pencils. They are the perfect size for creative coloring!

I used an extra aqua paint Gel Press print and the fabulous Hello Sunshine stamp set to create a clean and simple card. The little flip flips from the Pool Party set were abandoned at the edge of the pool. The ‘life is better in the summer’ is my mantra. I’m 100% a summer girl.

My second set of projects were created with fun new Triple Slim Boho Stencils, new TE ink colors and Blending Brushes. The Triple Slim concept is fantastic because you are able to use the set of 4 graduated design stencils to create on background that is easily cut up to create three coordinating cards.

My color combo was a surprise to me, after just messing around. I love the way Avocado, Banana Cream Pie, Passion Fruit, and Macaron all played together for this bright and fresh look!

I used this panel from the Triple Slim Panel along with this awesome Half Dots Stencil. I love the variety of colors and the clean look of this panel in white. So much variety in a clean and simple design. My sentiment is from the new set Boho Hellos. Just the right mix of fonts for simple, yet thoughtful, messages.

You Are AMAZING! I used the Rainbow Drip Drops to accent my colors on the Boho Background, and I loved how they picked up color from underneath and shifted their appearance.

Happy Birthday with a little black sentiment, Black Drip Drops and splatter for interest is a simple favorite of mine from this fabulous release!

I’m calling it Boho Trip Slim Stencils for the win! It’s an easy way to create multiple cards with coordinated looks, making it an awesome choice for building up your card stash or creating gift sets.

Thank you for stopping by today! I’m so happy to be a part of the TE Creative Team, and I can’t wait to see their takes on this amazing release, and I’m looking forward to sharing more as time goes by!
