Chase Your Dreams

I’ve got a My Favorite Things treat for you today! They are sponsoring the CPS Sketch this week. That means there is a fun prize for one of this week’s sketch participants.

I paired my sketch with MFT’s Vertical Greetings and a few fun Die-namic dies. I love this sentiment…You really do have to work towards making your dreams a reality. The magic doesn’t just happen. I chase one of my dreams for 4-5 miles every Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings…one foot after the other.

See you tomorrow!

  • Stamps: Vertical Greetings – My Favorite Things
  • Paper: Simple Stories – Fabulous paper & Core’dinations
  • Ink: Truffle Mix’d Media Ink – Clearsnap & clear embossing powder
  • Accs: Fishtail Flag STAX, Mini Doily Circles & Butterflies Die-namics – My Favorite Things, Clear Smooch Glitz – Clearsnap & paper flowers

Is Your Imagination ‘Out of Focus’

CPS Sketch this week is a fun one. It was sponsored by the Sharp Crochet Hook. Even though I didn’t make this one myself, I love crocheted trims.

I love those balloons. I wanted to keep die-cutting and stamping…Maybe I’ll make 10 more of these cuties. 🙂 I used MFT’s Up, Up and Away set and die-namics. The shading on the stamps means you don’t have to color, and makes them a perfect choice for quick & easy, clean & simple.

It’s been a rough morning, so I’m going to see if I can put my imagination in focus for an hour or two!

Happy Tuesday!

Palm Sunday: Glory Be!

It’s a beautiful Palm Sunday here in Missouri, and I have a fun CPS Sketch sample to share with you. Sketch 259 looks a little intimidating, at first, but, I flipped it and it came together very quickly. I did double duty with a Creative Scrap from Crafty Secrets to go vintage for the very first Crafty Friends Challenge hosted by Beate. Prizes with either challenge, so if you get inky this week, check them out.

I started the day off here, on my porch swing with a cup of coffee. It’s supposed to be in the low 90s today. Palm Sunday is special regardless the weather, but I’ll take it today with a smile and a heart of gratitude. Thank you, Lord.

P.S. I may live in Missouri, but I’m a Kansas girl, and our Jayhawks are still in it! March Madness extends to April! NO FOOLIN’ …. ROCK CHALK!

  • Main image: Creative Scraps – Crafty Secrets dusted with Smooch Glitz from Clearsnap
  • Ink: Clearsnap
  • Paper: Simple Stories & kraft cardstock
  • Accs: bling – Want2Scrap, colored with Copic Marker (YR18)

The Sky’s the Limit

The CPS Sketch was fun this week. I created my card yesterday between basketball games. My daughter’s tournament is home this weekend, and that meant a 5 minute ride over to the courts vs. an hour away. I could easily jet back and forth from the house.

The {Stamps} of Life were our gracious sponsors this week, and I adore this set, Kites2Fly. I paired it with Picadilly paper from Basic Grey and some sweet little cloud dies from MFT. Ink is Mix’d Media Truffle from Clearsnap.

If you find some time to sketch along with us, make sure and enter at the CPS Blog, you could win a prize from The {Stamps} of Life.

After church, I’ll be watching a lot of basketball today. My daughter has two games and then I’ll be watching Kansas in their Elite Eight game against North Carolina! Go Jayhawks! Squeezing in dinner with a friend from out of town. It’s going to be a beautiful day! Thanks for stopping by!

MIA Comeback: CPS Sketch & a Winner

Apologies for a little hiatus the last week or so. Several family concerns had come about and my focus was needed elsewhere. Things are good here on the home front, but there are a few things, believe it or not, that just won’t wait while I make a card and type a blog post. <grin>

I did enjoy this weeks’ CPS Sketch Challenge. I paired it with one of my favorite Whiff of Joy images, Sweet Cake and some delicious ribbon from our CPS sponsor this week, Really Reasonable Ribbon. What’s not to love about ruffled, gingham chocolate ribbon? Seriously! Check the sketch and link us up to your post. You could win some yummy ribbon from our sponsor!

And, I owe you an apology for the delay in posting my Copic Coloring Guide winner from last week. The winner of my autographed copy is Sue O. I have her email address, and I’ll contact her for shipping info. Thanks so much for all of your sweet notes and entries. I do love your feedback.

I’m heading to Phoenix in the morning to teach a Standard Copic Certification on Friday. Marianne is meeting me there so that she can teach the Intermediate class on Saturday. Should be a great, quick trip!

I’ll be back Friday morning with a sample for Taylor’s Sketch Challenge!

Have a beautiful day!

{dream}

Happy Sunday evening! I’m popping in to share the CPS Sketch 253.  We’re back after the wildly popular and fun CPS 5-year anniversary celebration, and 0ur sketch is being sponsored (with a prize!!) this week by The Twinery. Very fun stuff!

I paired the sketch with my new Vintage Dreamer stamp set and the Taylored Expressions Key Ingredients of the month. Talk about fast stamping? I love how Taylor’s kits are all planned out with the ribbons, papers and embellishments! Everything comes right to your door in a sweet carry case. EASY! The stamp set is a special for Key Ingredient subscribers this month. LOVE.

Also, a quick update about Copic classes. The registrations for the Standard and the Intermediate Copic Certification classes have been very strong, and in fact, we are having to turn people away in some of our classes because they are at capacity. You can always get the latest information by being signed up for updates on the site! And, if you see a location that you like and can attend, please don’t delay the application! 🙂

And, if you happen to be anywhere near Miami, there are a few spots left in my class this coming Satuday, February 25th!

I hope you have time to get stampy this week!

CPS sketch-a-versary!

I’m back! There is a big ole party going on at the CPS Sketch blog. It’s the 5th anniversary of that treasure trove of sketching fun, and the designers are busting it out for 15 days with fabulous sponsors, a re-visit to some of our favorites over the years and the opportunity to win awesome prizes!

For my favorite flash back, I paired Sketch 102 (that originally debuted in February, 2009) with some darling new stamps from The Cat’s Pajamas. The Heart Trio Dies from TCP were the perfect compliment to the sketch.

I loved the heart and the clean lines of this sketch! I hope you’ll find time to play along for GREAT PRIZES! You can find all of the details HERE.

CHA (The Craft Hobby Association trade show) was great! It always is a wonderful time to catch up with industry friends and customers. I get home and people ask what my favorite new products were…truth be told, I don’t actually do much window shopping, but I spied some super sweet new papers this time, some darling kraft journals that allow for a smaller scaled (8×10) Project Life and super cute new stamps. I’ll be ready for a few things to hit the stores!

I’ll be back on Friday with a sketch from Taylored Expressions. I’m trying my hand at some mixed media fun this week, too.  See you soon!

Supplies:

  • Stamps: Feelin’ Cupidy and Build-a-Bingo – The Cat’s Pajamas
  • Cardstock: Choice Cream – Taylored Expressions and Sunshine – My Mind’s Eye Lost & Found
  • Ink: Rich Cocoa Memento – Tsukineko
  • Accs: Copic Markers (YR30, YR31, W0, W1, Roo, Ro1) Heart Trio Dies – The Cat’s Pajamas

Love You Muchly

I’m here with another sample for CPS Sketch week! The sponsor this week is Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps, so fun prize up for grabs from the sweet, sweet folks there!

I’ve got my craft room relatively clean after the Christmas crafting chaos, and finished a few projects for upcoming publications. I’m *so* happy to be moving on to Valentine’s Day with Build-a-Bingo from The Cat’s Pajamas. It’s fun, easy to use and it has tags for so many occasions in the set. Definitely versatile!

I’m looking forward to church and then a relaxing afternoon. I think we have NOTHING on the schedule…no deadlines, no birthday parties, no functions! Yippee!

I’ll see you tomorrow when I announce a winner for my Paper Smooches blog candy. You can read that post and enter HERE! (Comments on *this* post – while certainly appreciated – are NOT eligible for blog candy!)

I hope your Sunday is full of fabulous.

  • Stamps: Build-a-Bingo and Merry Wishes – The Cat’s Pajamas
  • Ink: Chocolate & Strawberry ColorBox dye ink pads – ClearSnap
  • Paper: Paper Heart 6×6 pad – Crate Paper
  • Misc Heart dies – Taylored Expressions & MFT Stamps

Copic News, Classes & the New Year Catch-Up!

Happy New Year!

I sure enjoyed a little break over the holidays. Loved spending time with my girls and hanging out. I also created this card for this week’s CPS Sketch 250. It’s been so crazy with fall like weather around here, I couldn’t resist the color scheme. Of course, last night we got snow and 16 degrees. Go figure!

I love this set from Taylored Expressions, Love Grows Here. Just perfect for some fun coloring!

Speaking of fun coloring. These beauties (12 new Sketch colors) showed up just before Christmas. Oh my…Some beautiful parings to some of my favorite color combos – YR27, R56, G43…SWOON. They are available for pre-order from many Copic sellers. It won’t be long!

I’m looking forward to my first certification classes of the year. The classes have been re-worked based on consumer feedback over the last year or so, and we’ve got more coloring time and hands-on feedback than ever before packed into the standard certification class. I’ll be in San Diego the weekend after CHA. Thank you for sunny, SoCal in February. That’s what I always say. There are lots of locations posted right now for both standard and intermediate: Anaheim, Richmond VA and Columbus OH…We’ll be having standard only classes in San Diego, Miami and York, PA. We’ll also be opening St. Louis (standard and intermediate) in the next few days!

You can see our first quarter schedule and get class info HERE! Remember, there is a discounted re-take option for anyone who would like to hone their skills and refresh on different techniques.

It felt great to get back into my crafty office. I’ve got some more goodies to share with you tomorrow, and I’m working on Project Life this year, too. So, I hope to share my first week in the next few days. I worked on it early this morning. I love the PL concept. I think it’s going to work well for me!

So, I’ll see you tomorrow morning. Until then go color something and keep warm, ok?

May Your Holidays Sparkle

Another quick and easy sketch from Card Positioning Systems this week. Just what the doctor ordered for the middle of December! This week’s challenge was sponsored by Flower Soft. So, you could win a prize just by stamping. Thank you, Flower Soft!!

I paired the sketch with Winter Wonderland set and coordinating dies from Taylored Expressions. Echo Park Holly Jolly paper. A little Ultrafine White FlowerSoft and glitter. Cue real snow for front porch photo shoot. Done.

I’m just about ready to start wrapping the gifts. My goal is cards and gifts wrapped and ready by 12/17. I’m going to make it (for the most part – LOL).

Hope your holidays are sparkling…
