Love Fest Challenges and Prizes at Splitcoast

We are celebrating our Member Companies this week at Splitcoast with 11 days of LOVE FEST fun challenges, chatter and prizes, hosted by our 10 fabulous Member Companies!

I made a card for today’s challenge hosted by The Cat’s Pajamas. Super cute challenge idea. Hope you find time to play along between now and March 3rd. There are a lot of $25 gift certificates up for grabs from your favorite places. (Wish I was eligible to win prizes!)

I used Build-a-Bingo from The Cat’s Pajamas and some various dies from Verve and MFT Stamps to put this together. The background was dry embossed on SnoCone cardstock from MFT and then brushed with a white ink pad. I love that quick and easy look.

I’ll be back – lots of fun challenges and several more cards to share this week!

Beary Good Birthday

I still love a good card making challenge, and I’m going to try to finish more of them this year…Here’s on for this week’s The Cat’s Pajamas  Tuesday Challenge, and this one was easy!

This cutie from At Your Service was another one of the images that I colored over Christmas. Such a cute little bear, and you can put different things on the tray. My bear is colored with Copic Markers (E33, E35, E37 and E39 with a little R20 in her ears). Rather than blend all of the color, I’ve again done the dabbling to add layers and texture. It’s super easy. Just start with your lightest color all over and work the darker colors into your corners by dabbling.

I put everything together with the new Framed Up dies… I *LOVE* this die combo, and my favorite way that I’ve used it is shown here. The label is turned on the side creating a little tail off to the left of the image. Something so simple and easy, yet adds a little interest to the card front without any extra bulk or fuss. I added a little button and Divine Twine to finish this off.

The Polar Vortex has moved through our part of the country. It’s still cold, just not frigid, and we’ve had some beautiful, light non-threatening snow today. I hope you are staying warm.

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great night!

cutting and pasting

I spent a lot of the Christmas break in my office and in front of the fireplace coloring images and watching movies with my family. It was a peaceful time of laughter and chatting, all while pulling myself back together after a busy, busy December.

I’ve started cutting and pasting with those images. One of my goals in the new year is to actually send more cards. My intentions are good. My follow-thru needs a little work. So here’s to making a few more cards in the new year.

Here’s one of my finished cards. Isn’t the Cat’s Pajamas stamp adorbs? The set is called Sheepish! I chuckled at this sentiment… So funny. I know some of my running girls will get a kick out of it since attire for the weather is often a morning discussion. I’ve always been told dress for the current temp + 20 degrees, and that’s never let me down…until yesterday. My New Year’s Day run was the coldest 28 degree run I’ve ever made. Still a beautiful day, I just needed an extra sweatshirt. 🙂

I colored the skin with a series of swirls. I started with E40, E41, then E42 and finally V95. Each color change meant a tad bit shorter and thinner stroke. The result is a shade of white with depth and dimension. It’s a trick I learn from the talented Kristy Dalman on this little tutorial. Love it.

The scarf was colored with B00, B32 and B34. The square panel was cut with Pierced Square and Square STAX Die-namics from MFT.

Thanks for stopping by. Back in the morning with something fun.

You’re Tweet!

Maybe the shortest blog post ever to say happy Wednesday!

This quick card features the Nesting set from The Cat’s Pajamas. Miss Meowy always has the cutest images!

Hang in there, friends! You’re tweet, and Friday is coming!

FUN {TACHE} TIC

Picking up my kiddos in just a few minutes and running by the store to stock up for our pending midwest ice-in, but thought I’d make a quick update for Love Fest Day 6 celebrating The Cat’s Pajamas!

I used The Mustache Set and Bingo for The Cat’s Pajamas’ Love Fest Inspiration Challenge.  Very fun! Thanks, TCP!

Stay warm!

JiFFy is Back!

The JiFFy Girls took a little break over the holidays. Always good to be back to something you love, right? Speaking of good to be back, can I just mention how much I miss my own coffee pot when I’m away from home…even for 2 days? Yes, it’s good to be back!

Just a reminder, JiFFy Girls challenge each other every month, or so...heavy emphasis on so this time…lol, and it’s just for fun! Someone picks a paper and someone else picks a stamp. This month sweet Carole was the paper picker and Miss Amy Rohl was the stamp selector. Fabulous combo, I hope you agree.

This month, Amy selected The Cat’s Pajamas’ super sweet set, Admit One and matching die, Big Ticket. Carole chose Flower Basket paper from Pebbles’ Fresh Goods line. Lovely!

My youngest niece is a Leap Day Baby, and she’s having her very FIRST birthday this week, so I thought I better pop a little something in the mail today! The ticket stamps come with sentiments, numbers to customize the date and a lot of little fun accents. I added the Sunflower Rosette die to make a little badge and a die cut 4 from MFT and a crepe paper pink tutu to make sure it’s special for her.

I can’t wait to see what the other girls created because I loved this combo! You can check them out:

Flying by with a 14th HI!

Couple of quick Cat’s Pajamas’ Valentine’s today… This little aviator has been colored and sitting on my desk for a while, and I thought he’d be super cute for a little guy Valentine. I added a few heart dies (from Taylored Expressions) and loved the scalloped circle ~ open heart die to accent the 14 in the patterned paper.

Here I used the super versatile Cat’s Pajamas BINGO stamp to create a quick card, again using the scalloped circle ~ open heart die to accent the 14th. The large scalloped heart die is from MFT.

I had a lunch date with hubby today. He let me choose the restaurant. He’s sweet like that. Tonight, we are having one of the girl’s favorite meals and a family movie night. I can’t wait!

To get ready for the classroom parties today, I got busy making a few favorite finds from Pinterest…again. This was actually a tag called Bunny Bait, but I changed the color of the M&Ms and called it Cupid Crunch ~ popcorn, pretzles, m&m’s tossed with a melted white chocolate drizzle.

These were so fun. Jumbo marshmallows dipped in melted white chocolate and red candy chips and then sprinkled with pink, white and red confections. I put each of these in a small cello bag and tied with twine. Super cute and so tasty.

CPS sketch-a-versary!

I’m back! There is a big ole party going on at the CPS Sketch blog. It’s the 5th anniversary of that treasure trove of sketching fun, and the designers are busting it out for 15 days with fabulous sponsors, a re-visit to some of our favorites over the years and the opportunity to win awesome prizes!

For my favorite flash back, I paired Sketch 102 (that originally debuted in February, 2009) with some darling new stamps from The Cat’s Pajamas. The Heart Trio Dies from TCP were the perfect compliment to the sketch.

I loved the heart and the clean lines of this sketch! I hope you’ll find time to play along for GREAT PRIZES! You can find all of the details HERE.

CHA (The Craft Hobby Association trade show) was great! It always is a wonderful time to catch up with industry friends and customers. I get home and people ask what my favorite new products were…truth be told, I don’t actually do much window shopping, but I spied some super sweet new papers this time, some darling kraft journals that allow for a smaller scaled (8×10) Project Life and super cute new stamps. I’ll be ready for a few things to hit the stores!

I’ll be back on Friday with a sketch from Taylored Expressions. I’m trying my hand at some mixed media fun this week, too.  See you soon!

Supplies:

  • Stamps: Feelin’ Cupidy and Build-a-Bingo – The Cat’s Pajamas

Love You Muchly

I’m here with another sample for CPS Sketch week! The sponsor this week is Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps, so fun prize up for grabs from the sweet, sweet folks there!

I’ve got my craft room relatively clean after the Christmas crafting chaos, and finished a few projects for upcoming publications. I’m *so* happy to be moving on to Valentine’s Day with Build-a-Bingo from The Cat’s Pajamas. It’s fun, easy to use and it has tags for so many occasions in the set. Definitely versatile!

I’m looking forward to church and then a relaxing afternoon. I think we have NOTHING on the schedule…no deadlines, no birthday parties, no functions! Yippee!

I’ll see you tomorrow when I announce a winner for my Paper Smooches blog candy. You can read that post and enter HERE! (Comments on *this* post – while certainly appreciated – are NOT eligible for blog candy!)

I hope your Sunday is full of fabulous.

  • Stamps: Build-a-Bingo and Merry Wishes – The Cat’s Pajamas
  • Ink: Chocolate & Strawberry ColorBox dye ink pads – ClearSnap
  • Paper: Paper Heart 6×6 pad – Crate Paper
  • Misc Heart dies – Taylored Expressions & MFT Stamps

witch way to the candy?

It’s CPS Sketch Time. This week it’s #238 and it’s being so graciously sponsored by one of my favorite people…Miss Meowy at THE CAT’S PAJAMAS! I have plenty of TCP stamps and dies to love, so picking a favorite from my stash was *no* problemo.

I chose Witchy. Isn’t she darling? She looks like she’s going to a friendly little children’s Halloween party and maybe she’s gotten lost on the way through the dark spooky forest. All she wants is her candy! LOL. Someone help her!

I’ve colored Witchy with Copic Markers (V12,V15, V17, YR04, W1, W3, W5, YR30, YR31, E000 and E51) and paired her with Echo Park paper and some black bling. Fairly quick card. Love those.

One note of interest: I wanted the label with the sentiment and middle panel for the sketch to match one of the colors on the card since the papers were pretty consistently grey and orange. So, I stamped my sentiment on Xpress It Blending Card and then airbrushed with YR31 Copic Marker. Perfect match to her hair and helps with the color continuity.

Hope you find some time to get stampy. It’s better for your hips than candy. Just sayin’….
