Feeling the Love?

I made it through the Love Fest, and I have a big stash of new cards to send out to family and friends. YAY! There are still a few days left to play, and lots of fun prizes up for grabs, so if you are snowed in (like me!) today…get to crafting.

This was my card for Verve Stamps color challenge. If you stop by my blog very often, you know I *LOVE* those My Mind’s Eye 6×6 paper pads. This card offers you a way to use the pieces that have a focal image on a portion of the 6×6 piece. Use it! I’ve paired it with a pretty sentiment from Verve’s Brighter Days set and the Pennant Trim and Joyful Bloom dies. The typed sentiment on the pattern paper says, “be the best you can possibly be”.  This *might* be my favorite card from Love Fest.

To close out the party on Sunday, I made this card for The Greeting Farm’s Love to Die For challenge. I used the Tea*rrific stamp set from The Greeting Farm with Sweet Scallop die from Verve and the Lace Chain Border die from Taylored Expressions. The patterned paper is from my drawer. I’m sorry I don’t remember the name of the manufacturer – but I do remember it’s discontinued. Still pretty! Don’t be afraid to dig through those older papers and stamp sets!

We’re snowed in again here in Missouri – second time in 5 days. We got another 11″ of snow last night, on top of about the same last Thursday. I’m trying to stay hidden behind the computer because I’m pretty sure that hubby is going to want me on the back end of a shovel sometime this afternoon. 🙁

Stay warm! Finish up those Love Fest challenge cards before Thursday.

I’ll see you soon!

serving sweet friendship

I’m back for a combined Blog Swap Hop today featuring two fantastic companies, The Greeting Farm (who I am guest designing for this month! YAY!) and The Twinery!   If you’re just getting here from Emily Leiphart‘s blog, WELCOME!  If you have yet to begin the hop, please visit the TWINERY BLOG to begin!

We are excited to bring you a fun hop, loads of inspiration as the world of TGF rubber stamps collides with the quality baker’s twine we’ve all come to know and love.  Our teams are busy today with new and fun projects to share and definitely a few prizes!

For my project today, I chose the Tea-rrific set from The Greeting Farm. Love the fun tea cups image and sweet sentiments in this set! The stacked tea cups are all one image, so I inked it up 3 times and then cut the teacups apart to re-stack. They are matted on a MFT’s Open Scallop Doily (the large one from the duo set) die. I set mine off with some pretty orange twine from The Twinery. Just because I’m all about extra fun, I’m sharing this project as part of Judy’s  Treat Yourself challenge at Splitcoast for Hope You Can Cling To!

Now…I DID mention something about PRIZES, didn’t I? 😉 There are TWO prize packs up for grabs and you will have until Sunday, October 23rd at 5pm CST to comment on ALL the blogs in this hop and enter for your chance to win one of them!

The Greeting Farm is giving away their ENTIRE November release EARLY to one lucky winner- that is four stamps in all and EARLY nonetheless!

The Twinery is giving away one “COLORFUL BUNCH” sampler pack!

That’s TWO great prizes, TWO chances to win…and endless inspiration beginning here, on The TWINERY Blog.

Your next stop on the hop is with the talented Caroline Stender.

Thanks for sharing the fun with us. Have a great weekend, and good luck!

FUR-EVER!

So we have been having some trouble with a few pesky racoons who like to party on our patio the last week or so. Hubby has been setting a large live trap to see if we can take care of the problem. (And, by take care of, I mean that we load the live trap, into the pickup and take the caught trouble makers to a state park about 10 miles away, and we release them unharmed.) This morning, I was running up to church early to drop something off and then coming home to get ready for our normal service an hour or so later. I found a great big kitty in our live trap – totally safe and snug, but definitely not sound… LOL. She was *hissing*.

I’m not normally a kitty cat girl, but after the wake up call this morning, this cute little number from The Greeting Farm was fun to color this afternoon. LOL. In fact, I’ve been having fun with The Greeting Farm all month. (Jess is featuring me today on TGF Blog – can you say intimidating!)  I am so appreciative that they asked me to join them as a guest designer this month!

I made this card for sewspendidstamper’s Hope You Can Cling To challenge at Splitcoast. Her challenge was awesome: H.O.P.E. (having only paper elements). Harder than you think these days with all of the pretty bling and buttons around. Girls, I didn’t even use my beloved linen twine or kraft paper!! Still super fun! I love these challenges because you have all month to work on them, and there are GREAT prizes up for grabs – seriously, like The Greeting Farm gift packages!

This card is a little bit smaller than my normal sized A2 card, and that is because I have these beautiful notecards and envelopes that are 3.5″ x 5.5″. I picked these up when I was in NYC with Jenn in August. I thought they would make super sweet (and quick) notes for my girls. I like to tuck notes into their lunchboxes from time to time. {loved} this find at Kate’s Paperie in SoHo.

I think I’ve rambled long enough for one day. I’ll be back tomorrow with something special… Have a beautiful Monday!

Parcel Post

Well, we made it the RELEASE for The Greeting Farm this week. I’ve loved all of the sweet projects and cards that the DT has put together. I love all of the release sets, but this Clear Christmas set is probably my favorite (*if* I had to choose one!).

I’m thinking about CAS ideas that are easy to duplicate for Christmas this year! This little number is dressed up with a few snowflakes, green bling and some sparkle all over the sleigh (though it’s almost impossible to see in the photo).  I send quite a few cards, so a head start is never a bad idea. My parents are visiting this weekend, and my mom reminded me tonight that it’s only 8 weeks til our family Christmas celebration in early December. Oh. My. Goodness.

At any rate, you’ve a few days to think about that. Today – October 1st marks a big release for The Greeting Farm with some fresh new faces to the design team and a BIG ANNOUNCEMENT. All of the 411 is available here on their blog.

Also today, the Hope You Can Cling To campaign for breast cancer awareness kicks off at Splitcoaststampers today with a month of challenges (and prizes!) to help you support the MD Anderson Cancer Center by sending in handmade cards to brighten a patient’s day. I’ll be back with more on this later in the morning when we officially kick things off – we’re going PINK, my friends!

See you soon!

Sip Life…

Hello, friends…

So, are you all exhausted, reeling from a FULL week of previews for the new stamp sets being released at The Greeting Farm tomorrow?   Why don’t we wind the week down with a nice cup of tea….pour yourself a cup or two of inspiration from our new “Teariffic” set.

This Teariffic set is so sweet. There are 6 images and 4 sweet sentiments. Totally love this. I paired a few of my favorite images with My Mind’s Eye paper and die cut labels for a fairly quick card. The ruffle is made from a piece of party store crepe paper, and I was able to accent my flower with a little tea pot charm that’s been in my stash for quite some time.

I wish I had time to invite a friend or two over for tea today, but alas, I’m helping The Greeting Farm ladies get ready for their big release and announcement tomorrow! No rest for the wicked! <grin> Be sure to head over to The Greeting Farm blog for more project inspiration and another chance to WIN “Teariffic” today!

I hope your Friday is full of fun. I’ll be prepping for tomorrow’s TGF festivities and getting ready to kick off Hope You Can Cling To at Splitcoaststampers! It’s gonna be a wild weekend!

So Sweet…I’m not *lion*

Hey! I’m back! Excited to show you the next preview for the October Release at The Greeting Farm! The day that my sets arrived in the mail, I was making a card for a friend’s baby shower to take place the next day. Low and behold, one of the sets was *perfect* – totally perfect!

This is a peek at one of the items that I bought for my friends baby girl. I loved this little lion when I saw it on her registry!

After the popularity of the Anya and Ian “wardrobe” sets a few years ago where you could build your own outfits, The Greeting Farm decided to give the wee-ones a turn to be fashionable! Couture little farmers! Love it!

I immediately set to work creating a matching card to hang on the outside of my gift bag. (I often hang the card outside the bag for decoration. I can get away with a plain white or kraft bag that way!) Loved the Build-a-Onsie: Girl. This sweet set of cute couture will be available in CLEAR polymer when it’s released on October 1st!

Be sure to visit the TGF BLOG today to see how you can WIN a set of your own! Thanks again for stopping by and I’ll see you soon!

I’m FARMing all month long! Can you believe it?

If you know me, you know I’ve got a thing for country music, country boys (one in particular) and country life (though I’ve never really lived *in* the actual country). So, when the fabulously talented and beautiful-inside-and-out Miss Jessica asked me if I’d consider being a guest at The Greeting Farm!!! I was just giddy. Consider??? Me!?!  Farm all month long! No question!

So, I’ve got the tractor kicked into high gear! Today marks day one of a FIVE-day PREVIEW EVENT at The Greeting Farm, and I am thrilled to bring you a sample made with the team’s first sneak peek at a new CLEAR stamp set, simply titled “CLEAR CHRISTMAS!” I love this set. It’s beautifully done, includes the Merry Christmas sentiment which I appreciate so much. I’ll have more to show you with other images from this set, for sure!

I used Beate‘s Ghosting tutorial at Splitcoaststampers to create my main tree image, and I loved how fast and easy it was. The green ink is Shabby Shutters from Ranger. The papers are from the 6×6 Life of the Party collection from My Mind’s Eye. The green specialty brands are My Mind’s Eye, as well. The Scalloped Scalloped border die is from My Favorite Things.

Well, does that get you in the Christmas spirit, even though it’s a little early?  We hope so!  Don’t forget to check out the TGF BLOG today for MORE samples from the entire fabulous DT and your chance to WIN this set before it’s released!  What’s more?  The Greeting Farm has a HUGE announcement coming on SATURDAY, OCTOBER 1st during our RELEASE day post and you will NOT want to miss this one…promise!  Not only do we have a new release coming, a new Challenge Team coming October 1st…we have ONE more exciting announcement and it might just be our best one YET!
Thanks for stopping by today…I will definitely be back tomorrow with more farm fresh goodies for you! Have a great day!

Good Hair Day!

all-samples_lcraig.jpg

This is what I call a good hair day! Lily from The Greeting Farm makes an excellent hair model, don’t you think. Some close ups are below.

I’ve been working on my sketch book and putting all of my samples in one place for my Copic Certification class examples. On Sunday, I was waiting for my daughter to finish up a dance clinic, and I spent some time holding down a chair at Starbucks and coloring away. These are just a few of the color combos that I’ve got ready to go.

I’ll be Eden Prairie, MN this Thursday with Debbie Olson to teach a certification if you are in the area and would like to come, application and detail info is here. We have room for just a few more folks. 🙂 Debbie and I will also be at ScrapFest doing Copic/Our Craft Lounge demos at the Mall of America this weekend – right outside the Archiver’s store. Come and see us!

If Minneapolis doesn’t work for you this week, maybe another upcoming class will. Here’s what’s going on in Copic Certification world:
