I have a good friend who hosts a cookie decorating party every December. I have an aversion to colored icing, but my whole family goes because it’s a TON of fun! I take the good natured teasing about bringing my own white icing with a grain of sugar and love the time we spend together!
This incredible little set includes the stamps and coordinating dies, but the dies are fun because they include two cut layers, and this was perfect for my style. Sugar cookie, white icing with colored piping or sprinkles. PERFECT. I used the Cilantro and Red Peppermint Embossing Powder to “pipe” some color onto my cookies. One trick I have for colored embossing powder is that I stamp the images first in the coordinating color of premium TE ink – Cherry Pop and Cilantro, then using the MISTI for perfect alignment, I use the powder tool to remove static and restamp the designs in Versamark before springing with embossing powder. This extra step goes a long way toward clean, colorful images when you’ve finished the heat embossing.
Here I’ve paired my delectables with the sentiments in Cilantro Sparkle embossing powder and set them all up on the Stitched with Love cutting plate in Sugar Cube cardstock. Keeping with my preferred white-on-white-on-white affections, I’ve popped everything up on a Scalloped Rectangle layer using a piece of Cilantro Cardstock to set it off. Bits and Pieces – Holiday Sprinkle are perfect little accents. I can’t wait to send this card to my hostess friend!
