If you follow me on Instagram, you know my handle there is Wheatfield_Designs. I am proud of my home state of Kansas, and I was thrilled to see a release just for me this week at Taylored Expressions! Wheat and sunflowers stamps and dies abound.
I created this card with Garden Variety – Prairie, and I love it. I cut the wheat shocks from Sugar Cube cardstock and colored them with OLO Marker. I let the ink dry between layers so there is more distinction between the colors. Then I spattered with Chocolate Truffle liquid watercolor and pH Martins Bleed Proof White. After tying my bouquet with twine, I created a backdrop with macaron and sugar cube cardstock layers cut with the A2 Rectangle Stacklet dies and a Stitched Diagonal accent. A tone-on-tone design with the Burlap Background Stamp brings a little texture. My sentiment was created on a vellum wrap with the Inside Scoop: Sympathy stamp set.
The wheat shocks are so versatile, and they are a lovely size for taking center stage on your next card.
As of the wheat were not enough! Layer It Sunflowers (our Kansas state flower!) are a beautiful addition to the die-cutting lineup. I put them together with Garden Variety Blooms and the Antique Pail dies for a sweet fall bouquet. I already have a participant in mind for this card, and I know she will love it!
I gave my blooms some white spatters and dropped the entire bouquet on to a buttercreambase created with multiple cardstock layers. I use a combination of Bearly Art glue and thin foam to create the varied heights of my blooms. I combine the Scalloped Rectangle Stacklets with the A2 Cutting Plate Stacklets and the Diamonds Piercing Plate for a lot of texture.
