How do you make a dude card? Find some fun outdoor stamps and stencils, add great muted colors in any hue and voila. The new Taylored Expressions Dude release makes it easy, and a special offer (details below) this week will jump-start the creativity.
For my first set of cards I used the Great Outdoor Stencils which are basically a mini-Create-in-Quad. You get four fabulous designs with each 6×6 creation. Perfect for creating focal points and cut-outs to add to your card creations. After the magical layered ink blending, small icon stamps allow you to create special little scenes.
Here I have paired Honey, Confetti Cake, Avocado, Macaron, and Toffee cardstock with the new Woodgrain Cardstock for a soothing palette that’s perfect for any man in your life. The Circle Stacklets and Circle Ridged Stacklets that add texture without a cut-out are fantastic. The graduated circle cutouts draw interest without adding excess bulk or bumps. I’ve finished these off with Dude Sentiments – from the set of the same name and a little bit of twine.
I think most masculine cards tend to be clean and simple, and the new Through the Woods stamps and dies are an incredible addition to the Taylored Expressions collection. Classic firs and limbs that will be used over and over, across several seasons. While I’ve chosen to accent with one simple evergreen here, I’m ecstatic to have these stamps.
I blended a circle background of Pineapple, Candy Corn, and Guava, then accented with a sentiment and flying eagle from the Great Outdoors accessory stamps (included with the stencil purchase). The panel is finished off with the cutout tree (Tropical Punch) color and a few easy strips to ground the focal point. The entire layer is popped up on Candy Corn cardstock.
