Here Comes the Sun

Absolutely in love with the Here Comes the Sun kit from Taylored Expressions. Limited quantities, I don’t think this one will be around long! So stinking cute! Mix and match the pieces for adorable hellos in a mailbox near you soon!

I used the new Radiant Cutting Plate to make my rainbow background. It takes a few cuts upfront, but then you have options for 11 different backgrounds right off the bat! You simply alter your rainbow order by one open space. I love this little sunshine die and the options for radiants behind the circle glow.

Here I’ve paired the rainbow with the Cloud Stacklets that are (thankfully!) making a comeback to the TE Store. These versatile clouds never left rotation in my die bin when they retired. I use them all the time. I thought the little faces from the Here Comes the Sun set were adorable. The Frame-in-Frame series dies in white showcase your design perfectly.

The TE cardstock colors to create my bright rainbow are: Plum Punch, Jelly Donut, Gumball, Cookie Monster, Cilantro, Green Apple, Lemon Meringue, Candy Corn, Cherry Pop, Lollipop, and Strawberry Milkshake. YUMMY!

For my second design, I used the Radiant Cutting Plate to ink blend a variety of warm shades around the sun with the cute “Here’s to another trip round the sun” sentiment. The colors I used are Pineapple, Banana Cream Pie, Guava, Pink Lemonade, Raspberry Sorbet, Mulled Wine, Sweet Potato Pie, and Peaches n Cream. My sentiment is embossed in white on the middle of the sun that is popped up. The entire panel was splattered with Bleed Proof White.

And one more bonus card this week. I loved the little “you melt my heart” sentiment. I thought it paired well with a big puffy cloud heart, the Cloudy Skies cutting plate, and the sunshine die from the Here Comes the Sun kit. I embossed my sentiment in white on vellum to attach to the card base. I added a few of the white hearts from Bits ‘n Pieces around the sentiment.

Tip: I like to stack multiple layers of cardstock with the A2 Cutting Frames that are the same color. They build interest without being busy!

Grad Party!

Gearing up to celebrate so many strong young people in our circle in the next month, including our youngest daughter who is graduating from college. She was 4 years old when I started this blog! TIME IS A THIEF!

The new Taylored Expressions release made growing my stash of cards easy! One of my favorite products from this release is the Hats Off, Grad background! I found it the perfect backdrop to most of my cards with Sea Salt Premium Ink. Here I’m showing to off on a Sugar Cube panel from the Foil It Insiders: Grad. The sentiment is perfect, and I simply added a few butterflies from Butterfly Wishes for punch.

For all of my samples today, I’ve used Silver DecoFoil and the MiniMinc Machine to apply the foil to the printed Foil It panels. It’s so fast and easy, and I love the professional look of the crisp foil on Sugar Cube cardstock.

Here I’ve used the same Sea Salt on Sugar Cube panel again. This time, I changed it up by using one of the longer dies from On the Right Track to create a crisp pocket design to hold money or a gift card. I mean, money is always an attention grabbing focal point, correct? The black 2023 die cut pieces are available in small packs of multiples so you are only buying a few to get you through this year. I love that Taylor makes fun options like this available!

Next up, I’ve used another Foil It Insider: Grad on Sugar Cube with a gorgeous, encouraging sentiment. The sky’s the limit! I simply stenciled clouds in Salt Water Taffy Premium Dye Ink. I dry emossed a simple box frame around the outside edge with my Scor-Pal and added another 2023 die cut. The little bitty tossed grad cap comes from the adorable little dated stamp set, Class of 2023. So fun!

My last card featured the same Foil It Insider: Grad sentiment packets and the Hat’s Off Grad background stamp. Here, I’ve cut the panel up to make a fun shaker card. I just love all of the different looks I was able to achieve from one pack of Foil It panels and complimentary dies. All have fun similarity but a twist of uniqueness at the end.

Spring Flowers

Fans love the Create-in-Quads for quick and easy production of coordinating cards, and the new Create-in-Quad Ever in Bloom stencil from Taylored Expressions is my favorite. I’m pretty sure it will be yours, too!

Nothing says spring has sprung like gorgeous flowers, and the new Taylored Expressions release does not disappoint! My patio flower bed is covered with tiny purple blooms right now, and I am loving it!

I’ve used the new Create-in-Quad with Macaron, Dried Fig, Avocado, and Sweet Basil inks to create a swatch of perfect purples! After creating my blended panels with TE Blender Brushes, I was able to pair the colorful pieces with favorites from my stash – the Pierced Lattice and Pierced Circles and the Petite Scalloped Rectangle Stacklets to create a series of quick and easy cards with gorgeous pops of color. I used Dr. ph Martins Bleed Proof White for splatter and accents.

The coordinating Spray and Frame dies for the Ever-in-Bloom Create-in-Quad make it easy to layer and bring dimension to your projects. Finish them off with Tiny Diamonds or Drop Drops for instant pizazz.

Here’s an Ever-in-Bloom sample I created with the Spray die and a pretty pink palette for spring. It worked perfectly to create a mini slim size card. I used the Mini Slim Circle Window to create frames on each end of the card and tucked some additional blooms underneath for dimension.

The easiest Birthday or Mother’s Day cards you will make this spring!

I always love a classic line art stamp, and if it’s paired with a stencil for easy, gorgeous color, I am all-in. Love the new Daisy Dreams for soft, soothing cards perfect for get well, encouragement, and sympathy cards.

This stamp is gorgeous in vibrant colors, but I paired it here with classic yellow and crisp white with gold heat embossing for the line art. I used a combination of Banana Cream Pie and Pineapple inks for the flowers. The petals are a graduated blend of Avocado ink. The Pierced Circle Cutting Plate backdrop is accented with an arched vellum layer and finished with clear drip drops.

I can’t wait to check out the design team’s cards! I refused to pre-peak this week, and I know I’ll be amazed.

Right now through Sunday, April 16th, when you spend $75 or more you will receive Silver Glitter Drops FREE! These round, glittery embellishments are the perfect way to add sparkle and shine to your floral card projects and more! Offer valid while supplies last.

Cards for Her

Love you bunches, and love this adorable stencil/die/stamp combo called Boots & Blooms Bundle (Boots & Blooms Layering Stencil set, Boots & Blooms die collection, Mini Strips – Floral stamp, and The Insiders – For Her panels) from Taylored Expressions.

I’ve paired the gorgeous stencil flowers and galoshes stencil/die with the fun Big Circles Cutting Plate to create windows for stenciled flowers on my back panel. I used a combination of Banana Cream Pie, Pineapple, Cupcake, Strawberry Milkshake, Confetti Cake and Granny Smith inks for blended flowers. The Milky POP white gel pen adds frills and details to the flowers that gives them a lot of character. A few clear Drip Drops add a sprinkling of dew. I loved making this card, and the stencils made it easy!

My second card for this release features new flower dies that add a fun punch of dimension to any project. I’ve used the Mixed Media dies – Roll with It Flowers 1, 2, 3, and 4. Three and Four are both new additions to the garden, and they are gorgeous cut from TE wool felt. The new Hold My Blooms stamp set makes a perfect backdrop, and I’ve planted them all on Salt Water Taffy cardstock. The accent circle is cut from my favorite Stitched Frame Stacklets 3 die. The Floral Mini Strips sentiment and Clear Drip Drops finish this card off.

Now how about something super fun! Right now through Sunday, April 9th, purchase the Boots & Blooms Bundle (Boots & Blooms Layering Stencil set, Boots & Blooms die collection, Mini Strips – Floral stamp, and The Insiders – For Her panels) for the discounted price of $49 (regular retail $55). Purchase of the Boots & Blooms Bundle also gains you access to the Girls Night In Live Event taking place on April 28th 7PM Central Time hosted by Taylor, Madi (Taylor’s daughter), and Linda (Taylor’s Mom)! Offer valid while supplies last.

All my heART

It’s kit time at Taylored Expressions, and this one does (clap) not (clap) disappoint! (clap-clap)

It’s the new All my ART. So easy to use, fun sentiments, and full of colorful designs just waiting to pop to the paper in the craft room! The With All My ‘Art’ Cardmaking Kit  is available with add-on pieces, while supplies last!

Here I’ve paired the paint swatches in all of the favorite rainbow colors with the big solid heart die from Forever Love to create a rainbow window with a Cloudy Skies backdrop. My sentiment was embossed in black on vellum and cut with the coordinating dies. I’ve popped it up and added some clay Bits n Pieces Hearts (colored with a black OLO marker).

For my next card, I used the All my ART stencil to create a sweet backdrop of color and added the little monster, colored with OLO Marker, with the fun ‘one of a kind’ sentiment. I love the paintbrush dies in the kit, and I made mine TE teal to match the little guy. My sentiment was embossed in white on vellum, cut from the coordinating dies and popped up. I added Tiny Diamonds in white to accent the thoughts.

One more card to share, this card uses a very different color combo and an Insiders – With All My ART panel to create a sentiment on the front of the panel. My sentiment was foiled with champagne foil and cut with the Open Scallop Circle then layered over a blended panel of Avocado, Macaron, and Plum Punch inks with the Mini Slim Swirly Roses stencil. After I popped it up on a Avocado colored card base, this mini slim card was accented with clear Drip Drops and is ready to mail!

The With All My ‘Art’ Cardmaking Kit retails for $60, is packaged in a zippered pouch with a custom sticker, and includes:

  • With All My Art stamp set
  • Bold Brushes Layering Stencil set

Happy Easter

I love getting ready for Easter! It’s my favorite holiday (after the 4th of July!) and it means SPRING IS COMING! New life, fresh hope! And, today… it means NEW STAMPS AND SUPPLIES!

I love the Taylored Expressions Easter release!

I’ve used the All Together – Easter stamps and dies with the Big Circles Cutting Plate to create my first card. I colored all of the elements with OLO Marker, cut them easily with one swift pass through the Big Shot and nestled them into the windows. The underpiece of Sugar Cube cardstock is stamped with the Gingham Check Background with Salt Water Taffy ink. I finished it off with Just For You sentiment from the All Together Occasions and Sugar Cube Pigment Ink splatters.

Next up, I used a pink and purple combination of Passion Fruit, Cupcake, Strawberry Milkshake, and Plum Punch to show off the gorgeous Redeemer suite – the Foil It background, the coordinating stencils, and the gorgeous Redeemer cross. I set the design inside the Arched Die cutout and framed it all with the Petite Scalloped Rectangle layers. The sentiment is foiled from the Joyful Joyful panel.

This is an easy elegant way to send Easter greetings!

My last card was so fun to create! I used the Get Thready Easter Eggs in Peaches n Cream, Pineapple, and Pink Champagne – the perfect pink trifecta of color! I used the coordinating stencils and floss to add details to the eggs and set everything on a backdrop created with He First Loved Us stencil patterns. The whole thing was splattered with Sugar Cube pigment ink. I finished it off with a sentiment from Easter Egg-stras! The whole Sugar Cube panel is popped up on Pink Champagne cardstock.

Feeling Abstract

It’s Taylored Expressions Kit Week, and it’s one of my favorite kits ever. In the Abstract 2 Kit. The Create in Quad stencil makes mass production a breeze, and the floral silhouette stamps and perfect sentiments are as versatile as they come.

Use the contents of the kit to create fast, unique cards with a variety of sentiments for any occasion. I loved layering the floral images over the inked quad backgrounds. This soothing palette Mint Julep, Salt Water Taffy, Macaron, Rose Water were perfect for this peaceful sentiment.

And, what’s a boho collection without a beautiful foiled rainbow? I love the striking simplicity of the designs. I hope you have a chance to work your own magic with these beautiful designs.

Effortless, endless designs. Here Peaches ‘n Cream, Candy Corn, Pineapple and Guava inks make up the cutest boho rainbow. I love chopping up The Insider for full front sentiments. This design was simple to complete with the stitched rectangle edging.

It’s Black and White

I love a classic black and white card. So crisp and striking! Today the Taylored Expressions team is sharing black and white creations – some with a color pop and offering you special pricing on a selection of our favorite tools!

I chose blooms from my illustrated set at Taylored Expressions called Sketchbook Florals, colored with warm gray OLO Marker (alcohol markers). The Pierced Diamonds Cutting Plate in white makes a perfect drop for the die-cut blooms, and it’s all accented by a layer of black cut from Petite Scallop Mini Slim Stacklets. I drizzled a few black rhinestones for a sweet and simple, LOVE YOU!

I think it’s fun how you can make a striking card with relatively few products!

a little luck of the Irish

I’m back with a little luck of the Irish today in adorable Taylored Expressions form. What I love about this release is the ease of creating quick and cute cards with a big punch of green and a cute quip for friends!

I fell fast for the Shamrock Shaker Die and Foil It sentiments. To create my shaker, I stacked 4 layers of the die-cut Shamrock die cut from Peapod Cardstock. This gave me the depth I needed for the Lucky Stars and Sprinkles without adding foam tape to the thin frame. I simply glue the layers together with Bearly Arts liquid glue – my favorite because it doesn’t make your hands all sticky if you have to touch the adhesive, and it dries so quickly! I simply added a full size Shamrock between the top and 2nd layer of the die-cut frame.

It’s hard to see in the photo, but I cut a full-size Shamrock from Sugar Cube, and stamped it with the Luck of the Irish background in Salt Water Taffy TE ink. This adds atad bit of contrast and interest behind the sprinkles in the body of the shamrock. .

My Shamrock Shaker was added to a white panel cut with Frame-in-Frame 3 and splattered with various TE Liquid Watercolor Greens. I finished it off with two cute sentiments from the Foil It: Shake Your Shamrock.

My second card for this release needs a video. I used the Shattered Rainbow DecoFoil on the full Foil It: Luck of the Irish panel for a quick and fun hello. I popped my sentiment up over a large vellum shamrock for fun!

Tip: I cut the sentiment from plain Sugar Cube three times and stacked those under the vellum for support under sentiment without using adhesive foam that might show.

I hope you check out this adorable release. It’s a perfect way to create fun cards for friends and family as we kick into spring with a little Luck of the Irish!

For a limited time, you can get the Luck of the Irish Bundle (Luck of the Irish Background stamp, Foil It – Luck of the Irish panels, Shake Your Shamrock stamp set, Shake Your Shamrock die collection, and Rainbow’s End die collection) for the discounted price of $65 – regularly retails for $73! Perk Up! It’s a TE Kit!

Perk Up, Friends! It’s Taylored Expressions Kit Time! Coffee is the only way to start the day, and these cards will be perfect for my coffee-loving friends!

This kit includes an assortment of stamps, foil-in panels (for inside sentiments, but shown as a focal point here), dies and stencils – something for everyone!

I used the Perk Up Stencil with Strawberry Milkshake ink, and then overstamped with the Perk Up Background stamp using Sea Salt ink to “lift” the pink color. After cutting with the dies, I added my stamped pieces on a Foil It sentiment panel that had been cut with the Stitched Frame-in-Frame 3 Stacklets and layered it all over the Pierced Diagonal panel of Sugar Cube card stock.

The whole stamp and stencil combo is adorable – here I’ve paired it with Plum Punch and Cookie Monster ink and over stamped with black. I love the font from the Simple Strips – Coffee, and Coffee is always the answer!

I added a Frame-in-Frame 3 around the edge for a fun finish.

May your coffee be strong and your Monday be short! I added the Coffee, Create, Repeat sentiments over the scalloped circle! Love how easy the Taylored Expressions kits are to create with! Take a look at what you get below:
