SCS Sketch Challenge – Finally

img_6590.jpg

Can I get a big AMEN for school being back in session! Everyone at the Craig house is happier this week! The girls love their teachers and school buildings (Our community houses an entire grade in one building so the kids move each year, but all together as a class.). Dad has gotten home cooked meals 2 nights in a row. I’ve gotten caught up on a few projects, work and even done today’s SCS Challenge! Life is good! šŸ™‚

I turned to a new Unity Stamps kit that I ordered from Angela’s release party last month, Growing in Unity. I love this tree. The paper is from a forth-coming collection at October Afternoon – this is both patterns of the double-sided sheet called ‘new pencils’. Dew Drops and a sentiment from Verve Visual’s Starlight, Starbright set completes the layout.

See you tomorrow ~

Divine Design: Mustard Seed

august-matthew-17-20-lcraig-080808.jpg

I tell you the truth, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘MOVE from HERE to THERE’ and it will move. ~ Matthew 17:20

A few years ago, one of my BFFs gave me a t-shirt with a Mustard Seed Company logo on the front and this scripture on the back. I love the t-shirt because I love the verse. It is truly amazing what God can do if you have a little faith and give Him enough room to work. The Lord has moved some big, big mountains in my life. Have you given Him enough room to move your mountain?

It’s Divine Design time, and Nancy Morgan and sweet, Jami Sibley both have samples for you to look at this month! Their cards are gorgeous floral creations this time around. I know that Taylor and Angel will be participating a little later this month to spread the joy! šŸ™‚

The stamps here Matthew 17:20 and the Distressed Dotted Backgrounder are from Unity Stamp Company. Cardstock is Core’dinations – I get mine at All That Scraps! Bling is KaiserCraft – available from the cool chicks at eclectic Paperie. The background is stamped with Pearl Adirondack Paint Dabber from CHF and the image is colored with Tombow Watercolor Markers.

Speaking of mountains, I’m off to move a full mountain range of Polly Pockets, Sweet Streets and Barbie schtuff! It seems that hurricane Courtenay hit the northern most zones of my house last night….Say a prayer for me! I’ll be back in the morning with more Saturday Evening Post.

For the Birds & Life Lesson

for-the-birds-lcraig-072008.jpg

I was really drawn to a new set from Unity Stamp Company with all the birds. There’s one for every season. I colored this one with Prismacolor pencils and gamsol – then accented with paper from the Pink Paislee – Office Lingo line and one of those new Primas that I got from Jacksonbelle.

I made it safely into Chicago. Yesterday I took the Copic Certificatin class, and it was a really good time. Lots of friends, great teaching from Marianne (ilikemarkers at SCS). Looking forward to making a few cards with the images that I colored. The SCS Team is getting ready to head down to the convention floor for opening morning of CHA. Should be fast and frenzied – We have some appointments set up, but I’m hoping to blog tonight about some of our favorite stuff from the show. Have a great day!

My! What a Beautiful Tree!

I couldn’t help sliding this My! What a Beautiful Tree stamp onto my Unity order.Ā  I love the whimsy and the bling-ability!Ā  With the size, it worked great for another card for Taylor’s Cupcake Challenge.Ā  The size is justĀ one thing I like about the Unity web site. When you look at their sets, they tell you exactly what size block you need for each piece in the stamp set. That’s an extra nice touch.

We had a nice evening of fellowship with our church family tonight. Every year around the 4th we celebrate with our God and Country picnic: good food, good music, good times. Now, the girls are out ofĀ the bathtub and in the bed, and I’m going to STAMP. šŸ™‚ The CHF Chicks have a challenge to post in the morning, and Tuesday is the 8th – already time for Divine Design this month! It’s gonna be a wonderful week!

Ā Have a great evening!

Unity Tree Begs 4 Bling

bling-tree-1-lcraig-070508.jpg

I wanted to stamp for Taylor’s Cupcake Challenge so badly yesterday, but alas … too much family fun (and a little re-organizing to my stamping space! ;)) got in the way!Ā So, first thing this morning, I pulled out my brand new Unity red rubber and was determined to use some of the fun new papers and stuff that is hanging out in my space to meet up with Taylor’s sketch.

This first card is a loose interpretationĀ of Taylor’s sketch usingĀ theĀ treeĀ from Unity’s new release, Tiny Trinity. With it’s open leaf pattern and the scale of the tree itself, these leaves begged for bling! Unity had a very lively ‘release party’ in their forum at Splitcoast last week, and I couldn’t help myself. In all the fun, I ordered 3 sets, 2 backgrounders and one of those beautiful acrylic blocs with wood handles. Then I proceeded toĀ stalk my mailman – lucky it only took a few days to get them!Ā
