Announcement & Copic Giveaway (this means FUN!!)

What a fun day! The Copic family would like to extend a very warm welcome to new design team members Cindy Lawrence and Michele Boyer!

Both of these Splitcoast Dirty Girls love their Copics and are amazing artists! (I hug them both when our crafty paths cross, and they’re so sweet to boot!!)

You’ll want to be sure to visit their blogs for fabulous Copic inspiration and give them a warm welcome, too, as they each have one of these fabulous Copic All-Marker carrying cases (markers not included) TO GIVE AWAY!!

And that’s not all . . . each of the rest of the Copic team members also have giveaways posted on their blogs.  Here’s what the rest of us are giving away — a brand new product from Copic, introduced at the Craft and Hobby Association show a few weeks ago: X-Press It High Tack Foam Mounting Tape:

High Tack Foam Tape

It’s available in 2mm thickness and either 1/2” wide or a unique 1/4” width (It think this width will be great for shaker cards)! This is a perfect dimensional foam tape for all of your projects. Here are some of the highlights:

  • A very high tack/adhesive — means this stuff isn’t going anywhere. I’ve been using it for quite a while, and it holds so well.
  • The white protective liner is very easy to peel off.

This fabulous new tape should already be in stock and available from your favorite Copic retailer .

For your chance to WIN one roll each of the 1/4” and 1/2” tapes, just leave your answer to this question below in the comments:

“When did you purchase your very first Copic Marker” OR any suggestions you might have for Copic (they’ll be reading!).

Leave your comment by next Monday evening, March 5 and I’ll have choose THREE lucky winners to be announced on Tuesday morning!  (Contest is open to winners in the US and Canada, as we only have distribution rights for those areas).

Be sure to visit each of these Copic design team members, for chances to win on their blogs, too . . . Good luck! A few of the ladies will be posting tomorrow, so be sure to check back. 🙂

  1. New copic user. Got my first copic April 2010. Do not own many.

  2. I purchase my first set of copics markers at the end of 2010, but I should have done more research on color choices, as it was not a set I could use for blending, so I did my research and ordered more for blending.

  3. Dawn Walton

I think it’s been 3 or 4 years now since my first copic class, afterwhich I bought 5 or 6 at that time… I’ve now got enough that I don’t freak out wondering if I’ll have a good color selection for the image, but I still have plenty to get. 😉

  4. I just recently started “collecting” my markers when I saw all the wonderful cards ppl were colouring which revived my interest in my first love, stamps. I got 3 markers at the first copic class I took back in January and now I have 77!

  5. I purchased my first copics about a year ago. I love them, but really need more practice in blending and more colors!!!

  6. Probably about 2 years ago.

  7. Hi Lori! Hmmm, hard to remember exactly but I think it was sometime in 2010. Then I took the certification from you in 2011 and I’ve been steamin’ along ever since! Thanks for the chance to win!

  8. I bought my first Copic Sketch just about a year ago and completed the set last week including the new releases 🙂 Matter of fact I took your certification class last June so you helped with this addiction LOL!

  9. Vallarie Clegg

Well, I purchased my first copic in August because of a card class I took at my LSS. I loved that you could color and not see any streaks. Then in October, I took a basic online class from My Creative Classroom….awesome! I was hooked. I now have about 150 and use them as often as I can. I can truly say Copic has brought out my inner child! I now will only buy stamps that I can color. Color me Happy!

  10. Carol Hirsch

Purchased my first Copic marker(s) in 2010 and loved them so much I just HAD to have them all. I absolutely love them…am getting better coloring with them as time goes on.

  11. I purchased my first copic markers in May, 2010 and have alot of them Got them slowly and when on sale. I am waiting for the 12 new colors to arrive in the mail. Hope I can win the foam tape–it looks awesome. If not I guess I will buy it. Thanks for the chance to win. Sandy

  12. I purchased my first copics this past year. I was always seeing them used by the Papertrey Ink’s design team and just loved them! And now I love them even more seeing all that Copic’s DT is doing with them.

  13. Sharon Roselli

I’m new to copic markers. I got my first marker last year at the craft show in York , PA. I really was against them because of the cost. However in one of the booths a great lady was coloring with them. I ended up grabbing a chair to watch. Korin (from Sweet and sassy stamps) explained what she was doing and why. I was hooked it was the 2 day so she didn’t have to many copics left. I purchased what she had and really look forward to going back this year for more. she will be the first place I go to buy more I need so many. I need to shorten my wish list to fit my budget.

  14. I am so happy for Michele – she certainly will be an asset to Copics. Love her work. My suggestion for Copics is that they organize a Copic Cruise. How fun that would be!!

  15. Super awesome blog, and the talent that is around you….amazing, great job! Fun prizes…thanks for sharing with us…awesome stuff. I love my copic markers!

  16. Kate Stockman

I’m new to Copics so I don’t have very many. I’m trying to get better with blending the colors, you gals make it look so easy.

  17. I got my first Copics in June of 2011, so I’m pretty new to them. I don’t have as much time to color as I’d like, but I appreciate all of the free tutorials that are available for newbies like me 🙂

  18. Sherry Lewandowski

I think I purchased my first ones about a year and a half to two years ago. I bought three, I think, and used them sparingly. As places got more stock in, I remember buying more.

  19. I got my first copic 2 years ago on July 17, 2010
i totally remember the date because it was the first time i got my firs awesome copics. most of it isnt even finished yet 🙂

  20. Congratulations to the new team members. Super exciting!!
I bought my first Copics in 2010 and I bought the sets of Earth tones, Pastels and Brights. I was disappointed because I couldn’t get ANY of those colors to blend. It wasn’t until I started to learn, that I didn’t have ANY color families. I had to build my collection around those sets. Needless to say, I now have almost all the colors and am VERY happy with my Copics. I have taken classes from great instructors and I color daily now!! Thanks for the chance to win!

  21. I purchased my first marker 2 years ago – a set of 12 originals…now hoping to get the new Copic colors just released. Only wish I had more time to practice!!! Thanks for the chance to win some tape…it looks remarkable!
    Paper Hugs,

  22. Oh my!! You are asking A LOT!!! You want me to remember something?!?!?! I find it harder and harder to do as I get older….I write down stuff a lot more than I used to. Aren’t smartphones the best?!? LOL!! I think I first bought my Copic from A Muse Artstamps shop in Seattle about 2 .5 years ago. I live about 25 minutes from them and in all previous years, didn’t know that they were in my backyard!! When I visited, I fell in love with everything they had to offer (alas, I am a consultant for them now and am so glad that Copic is part of our catalog items). I eventually started working at the shop on Saturdays…on top of my regular job. I absolutely loved it and when I started teaching the make n’ takes using Copics, I fell in love with them. I have proudly grown my collection ove the years.

  23. Haven’t gotten my first copic marker yet :{

  24. My first small set of Copic markers were given to me as a Christmas gift and I have been hooked ever since. Thanks so much for the chance to win. patnbobcuddy at gmail dot com

  25. Well I don’t have many copic markers. I bought some about a year ago. I was afraid to use them at first. I love the markers I have and hope to add to my collection.

  26. I think I purchased my first copic marker over 3 years ago. I seem to always need to get a refill on skin tones. Carol M in TX/[email protected]

  27. I purchased my first Copic marker 4-5 years ago. I instantly fell in love with them and now I have over 200 and counting. A girl can’t have too many Copic markers.

  28. I bought mine about a year ago and now I am hopelessly hooked on them!

Thank you for the chance to win.

  29. Judy Di Scipio

I bought my first 72 piece set of COPIC markers last December….and have placed quite a few orders since then. I LOVE them. Storage is my only challenge. 🙂

  30. Bonnie Ditto

Bought my first few 3 years ago because a friend made me! Glad she did.

  31. My sister was kind enought to send me six markers about a year ago. I thought ” just another marker to spend money on”. I was wrong, I love these and have put away the other brands because I just don’t use them anymore.

  32. I purchased my first Copic markers after I took a fun card class at the cutest store in Chandler, AZ called Stamp Works. I think we did five cards and used a variety of techniques using the Copics including the air sprayer. I loved how we made clouds using the sprayer. Who doesn’t love new toys to play with!

  33. I purchased my first Copics after taking a class at a scrapbook convention in Mpls — hooked ever since!

  34. I bought my first copics over a year ago and several hundred later, have not looked back. I love them!

  35. I purchased my first copic markers about 11 months ago after a make-n-take card demo at Joys of Life scrapbooking store. Now I’m addicted!

  36. I purchased my first Copic about 2 years ago. I only purchased a couple of them because I didn’t know if I’d like them or not. Wow!! Was I crazy?! OF COURSE, I’d like them!! SO much so that I almost went broke every month buying as many as I could ever since then. I mean who needs to eat when there’s SO much coloring to do!! LOL!! I ABSOLUTELY LOVE my Copics, and couldn’t live without them!!

  37. CLM-Cindylu2u

Started about 1 yr ago and don’t have alot, but enjoy what I do have. Would love to see them have more color combo packages. I usually pick mine up at Hobby Lobby and they don’t have to many different packages. Thanks

  38. Wow, it was probably about 4 years ago now – seems like yesterday, they’re such mainstays of my paper crafting world. I love using the airbrush with my markers 🙂

  39. Hi there!
I guess it would have been over a year ago when I started buying my Copics. I’m not very good working with them yet, but still buying, buying, buying! LOL!! I love them, but will really love them once I learn how to use then properly!
    Sue O

  40. I bought my first copics in 2009 and have bought a lot of them now. I am a decorative painter and I could see the advantage of the ease of coloring with this new medium. I love to be able to shade and high light as I do in painting. It has become a relaxing hobby for me. Also enjoyed my Copic Certification class with you in San Diego. Thanks for the help.

  41. Rebecca Francis

I purchased my first Copics from Sam Flax about six months or so ago. I took a marker class there and the instructor, Morgan Wilson, used Copics. I purchased a set of twelve, lights and darks. The selection totaly looked random. I was marked 39.99. When I got to the register, I was told they were 89.99. I was shocked. I didn’t know how much Copics were. The manager gave them to me for the price they were marked. I am very happy he did. I have not been able to buy another one yet.

  42. I purchased my first copic markers 2 years ago at a Scrapbook event. I bought 3 and thought that was all I’d ever need — lol! BOY that idea sure has changed! Thanks for teaching us how much fun they are!

  43. That’s easy – about 3 weeks ago!!! I’ve been wanting to try some and my local store had a sale so I bought 3, in good colors for shading, I’m told?! Can’t wait to get more, more, more…

  44. I bought my first Copic about a year ago and have fallen in love!!!

  45. Such exciting news! I love both of those girls work! YAY for the Copic Team 🙂 When did I purchase my first Copics? You want me to think THAT FAR back?! LOL! Silly girl 😉 Well…I know it’s been at LEAST 7 or 8 years ago…so like 2004 maybe? Also, I would love to hear about some fun “random” things people have used their Copic markers on. For instance…I have a couple pet rats. Somehow the cage got pushed up against a nice piece of furniture. Since it was wood…those little critters decided to chew on it! UUUGH! I KNOW! My first thought was what color marker matches this! LOL! I went and grabbed a marker and it worked PERFECT! Been close to a year now and still looks good! 🙂 Yet another reason why I LOVE my markers.

  46. Oh my, I had to really think about this because it seems like I’ve had my Copics for ever, but I think it has to be 6+ years ago? Joy Kennedy came to our girls retreat (she was selling them at eP) with a duffle bag full and got us all hooked. My “collection” has grown substantially since. LOL

  47. I got mine about 2years ago and have been playing and learning more and more. Love them!

  48. I was very fortunate and received a 72-piece set for Christmas about 6 years ago – needless to say, they’ve acquired many more friends since then XD.

  49. Thanks for the chance to win! I bought my 1st copics 3 years ago. I had some Christmas money saved up… and I bought some!

  50. I have not purchased any copics yet…I have been using up my stampin up markers and Tombos first…

  51. Simply Sandy

I started collecting the copics about 2 years ago. I would be one or two here and there since they are pricey. I have all the Tombows and it took a while to justfiy the purchase. If Copic is reading this then I would love to see some prettier pinks available 🙂 less orangy, coral.

  52. Vicki Sopcak

I started buying Copics Markers about 2 years ago from Flourishes because I like the fact that they bunch them with coordinating colors. It makes it easier for me when choosing which colors to use.

  53. Shelly Koskinen

I bought my first Copics about 2 years ago and have only about 30 more to get.

  54. Denise Bryant

About 2 or 3 years ago I think. I have a pretty good collection now, adding a few at a time! I love seeing projects online that show what colors were used, as I often use that as a guide as to which marker colors I want to get next!

  55. OHHH! What a fabulous giveaway! I purchased my first set of 65 Copics last December! The first time I used them….this month! THANKS for the chance to win:) sbmmhoover at yahoo dot com

  56. I bought my first Copics in March 2009. They were originals. I have now replaced their chisel tip with the brush tips. I have about 330 sketch and ciao markers now.

  57. I’m thinking around 2008 sometime, just not sure. I have ordered my new colors for this year and can’t wait to get them!

  58. gosh….thinking back….it feels like I’ve been using them forever. I bought my first 12 almost 4 yrs. ago (time flies! and my collection has grown). Love copic! thanks for a chance to win.

  59. Just recently I purched a few copic to do flesh tones with… still trying to work these out before I try any more…

  60. I love copics and have lots of them and am certified for the first class. I use them almost everyday and love them!! Thanks for the opportunity!

  61. Wow… what a fabulous give away!! The copic marker case would be a very welcome addition.. right now I’ve got mine stored in rectangular plastic trays and have to dig through them over and over to find the right ones! The high tack foam tape would be an over the top bonus too! I’d LOVE to win!

  62. Kathy Stacy

I purchased my first markers several years ago, however, I never understood what and how they could be used and thus, didn’t realize their potential. I then became interested in digital images and found that many people used the copics, thus, I started researching techniques for coloring and found that I love what they could actually do. From there I was hooked and I currently have over 300 markers.

  63. Evette K. Ciampo

Last year was when I bought my first copic marker in a small set. They are so beautiful. Have since gotten about twenty more. Loveeeeeeee them. I use the foam tape so much that I am always running out but have not found a REALLY fast holding tape. This one looks good. Thanks for the chance at winning some. ekc

  64. oops… forgot to answer the question, and you can’t win without answering right? The reason I purchased my first copic marker is because I wanted to know what all the chatter and hype was about… my first purchase was at a local craft store for just 3-4 markers in different colors and a colorless blender pen. I loved how they blended and soon realized I NEEDED more of these lovely markers! Then I got hooked on blogs featuring art work with the markers… and after exhausting the resources on the Copic Site, I joined several forums too. I can’t get enough education, tips and ideas. LOVE MY COPICS!!

  65. New copic user. I’m ashamed to say that I bought them sometime last year and just couldn’t do much with them until recently I bought the right kind of paper and now I’m off and running. I bought 72A and now I want set B!!!

  66. I got my first small set in the summer of 2010! Love them!

  67. Got my first markers about 3 years ago at at rubber stamp show. I am hooked and cannot stop buying them. They are the greatest! Congratulations to the new team members!

  68. Thanks for the chance to win tha tape, Lori! I think I bought my first Copics around 3 years ago and I’ve been adding to my collection ever since. Just got the new set of 12 – love them!

  69. This tape looks awesome! I purchased my first Copic Markers approximately 3 years ago. I still need much more practice and will never be a great artist, but they are fabulous tools for blending/shading and my FAV: coloring seam binding/ribbon, gems/pearls, ALL embellishments to match a project!!!

  70. I bought my first copic in January after watching a StampTV video using a copic blender with regular markers. I couldn’t get the effect like she showed. This week I bought Y11 and YG03. I can’t wait to gain a collection!!!!

  71. I bought my 1st few Copics about 3 years ago. Though I don’t recall which ones they were. Love them.

  72. Mmmm! if my memory serves me right, i think it was in 2009 (fall ) or spring of 2010. I seen them in our local art supply store and purchased a few and then went online to find out more. Fell in love with them as I luv to colour. I now have alot of the sketches. and have taken the basic certification and a few classes from rogue instructore.

  73. I think my first purchase was in the summer of 2008. A friend of mine had them and convinced me to get a couple. I did and I’ve been building my collection ever since. There’s nothing like using Copics to color with!

  74. That’s the funny one, I only bought it a month ago, so I’m a beginner.
Thanks for the chance to win.

  75. I actually won my first markers via a blog giveaway and then began purchasing them. I LOOOOVE them! I am not a proficient colorer but I’m practicing and learning and getting better. Thanks for the chance to win this giveaway.

  76. I’d love to try this tape out! Thanks for the chance to win. I can’t really remember when I bought my first Copic marker, but I know that it’s changed my world! One thing I think might be cool since Copic is looking for suggestions is to make nibs with patterns that could be put in the colorless blender and it would make patterns in your colored images. You could have checks, dots, lines, etc.

  77. Saw Copics at CHA about 4 years ago – and it’s been nothing but Copics since!

  78. I took my classes in 2009 so I’d guess it was 2009 or late 2008. Copic people: please make: R87, more E70s, BG11 and we need some super pale colours with more grey in them. Right now all the pale colours start with 00, 000, 0000. I want a B300 or 400 for example! How about an R200, 300, 800?

  79. I only had a handful that I bought in late 2010. After taking a copic class in Chicago, I now have 124.

  80. Nobody sold them in my area, so I bought a mixed group off EBay about 2 years ago.

  81. Last year my husand knew there were on my wish list and gave me the means to purchase 30 of them. Now have about 40+ but am so new to it all because of lack of time “playing” with them. Do love them though.

Find the hard tip in the original best for arthritic hands and purchase mostly the ciao to try, so when switching they will be used much more.
Wish the sketch came with the brush and hard tip.

  82. Connie Fisher

I bought my first copic markers about 2 1/2 years ago. And, I am sad to say I still need a lot of help. I would like to be able to watch a video of someone actually demonstrating how to use them correctly – blending techniques. Thanks so much for the chance to win some foam tape…I would love to try it out!

  83. Donna Scobey

I bought my first Copic marker while on vacation in Florida three years ago. I didn’t know anything about using it, but I wanted to try it out. Donna

  84. I purchased my first copic’s the summer of 2010. I love them and have not made one card without using them since.

  85. Pingback: Exciting News… and an Exciting Give-away! | Paper Cuts

  86. I purchased my first copic marker 4 years ago after seeing it used on so many great card projects!

  87. Diane Wiswall

I got my first copics about 2 years ago; I purchased 4 shades of blue and the colorless blender at Absolutely Everything in Topsfield, Ma. I fought it- I was a colored pencil gal– but my dear friend made me drink the Kool Aid— and I have been in love with copics ever since! Lori- I took your certification class in Boston last year- and I was thrilled to be part of your great class!!! Hope you come back soon! Thanks, Diane

  88. I got my first copic markers 3 years back as a birthday present to myself 😀

  89. It would have been late in 2008. I was introduced to them by Julie Ebersole. Still only have a couple of dozen but would love to win the case! Thanks for the chance to win Lori!

  90. Melanie Kuzik

I bought my first ones in 2010 from local LSS with a lesson but they closed before classes where offered so still trying to learn via internet TFS
    [email protected]

  91. I got hooked on Copics (not Phonics) about a year ago and now have about 300. Guess I need to stop buying and start learning to use.

  92. I purchased my very first Copic marker about a year ago , have lots more to get..
Thanks for the chance to win

  93. I bought about three or four Copic markers at Hobby Lobby some time in 2010.

  94. Ann English

I believe it was in 2010. I’ve managed to collect all the Sketch and a number of original. Love, love, LOVE them. Recently tried a hyped new marker- cheaper. They sure were! Once you’ve used Copics, nothing else will do 🙂

  95. I got my first Copics about 1 year ago. Thanks for the chance to win ;- )

  96. I purchased my copic about a year ago, and I love them! I asked my family members for Visa/MasterCard cards for my birthday, so I was able to purchase them on online stores that sells them – great birthday gift!
    Martha H.

  97. I purchased my first Copic markers about a year ago. I LOVE THEM. Best markers – and I add to my stash when I can.

  98. Margaret McCullough

Wow… it’s been so long ago that I’m going to have to take a stab at this… I would say I purchased my first Copic at least 5 years ago. Today I have all but about 20 of which the new 12 are part of the missing ones. I love these markers and talk about them every single chance I get! Thanks for such an outstanding product!!

  99. I bought my first copic marker about 2 years ago. I kept telling myself I didn’t need more makers !!! I bought a couple, took one class and then I started collecting. I collected and collected and then started taking all the classes I could get in. all they way to your certification class… I so love them!!!!

  100. I bought my first COPICs in October, 2010. I love the rich colors of COPICs and enjoy coloring my stamped images with them very much.

  101. I think it was about 2 years ago, just before I took a class at CHA in Chicago.

  102. Oh wow I have to think about this one. I think it was over 5 years ago and I was the first in my town to buy them. I bought a complete set of Ciao markers and then the next 4 only to find out that you don’t actually NEED every color but I just had to HAVE them. LOL! After that my LSS got on the Copic band wagon and it just exploded from there. I love my Copics so much I could marry them. LMBO!! Ok totally kidding but I do love them. Thanks for the chance to win! Hugs!

  103. You want me to remember when I got my first Copic marker? …….I’m lucky I remember the question I just read,LOL,, anyway , I can remember buying a few before understanding how they worked. Which meant buying more to blend properly( darn) .

  104. I purchased a small set a few years ago at a scrapbook show. It was during the past year that I finally took a class and learned how to use them. My small set has now increased to quite a few more. Now if only I had all of them.

  105. I purchased my first copics at the end of July 2011 ….. I coloured a few times and then I thought I would make a card.

Made the card and thought I would enter into a competition.

Realised I needed a blog … so I made a blog ….. since then I have coloured and blogged nearly every night (unless ill, working or family trouble LOL) and am now on 6 DTs! So I guess you could say I’M HOOKED!

  106. I’ve had my Copics for more than a year and have done a couple of classes with them – but really have only used them a few times although I love what they do. I just have to find time to practice more!

  107. My first Copics were a couple sets of Caio markers and that was at least two or three years ago. I loved them, but was intimidated too by them. I followed Marianne’s blog, since there weren’t many people writing about them, and the rest is history!!! Now, you can’t pry them out of my hands!

Thank you for the chance to win the cool tape, looks like it works great!!

  108. Probably 2 or 3 yrs. ago. Got my first at the LSS, then purchased some @ Hobby Lobby. Glad Michael’s is selling them now, but I already own all of the colors they carry. I love my copics sooo much- it’s the 1st time I’ve ever been able to color a stamped image to my satisfaction. I do need help coloring fur, & using the blender. I can’t seem to avoid a mess using the thing! Thanks!

  109. I purchased my first set of 72 about 2 yrs ago. I would like to see tutorials on coloring African American skintones.

  110. About 3 years ago. And now I am happy to say I have all the colors. I have some still as ciao and are even replacing them with the sketch! Tuts on backgrounds!

  111. I received my first Copics this past Christmas from my husband and kids.

  112. I started my Copic collection early last year (2011). Thanks for the chance to win!

  113. Love my Copic markers. I think I bought my first marker about 3 years ago and I’ve built up quite a collection! In fact I just bought 4 more yesterday. I NEED a bigger case ! Hope my name is drawn. 🙂

  114. Denise Trottier

I simply love my copic markers, to me nothing else comes close to them since they are so easy to use and blend so beautifully. I started buying copic markers in 2009, then went for copic certification and then I was really hooked and have been using them ever since…this is a great giveaway…hope I get lucky, thank you for sharing…
    Denise Trottier

  115. I bought my first topic marker in April 2011… Of course I didn’t buy just one! I was on a scrapbooking getaway and I forgot my stamp pads and markers! My home was a little over 4 hours away round trip so I couldn’t go back to get them. I called my hubby to see if he wanted to bring them to me and he said just buy those ones you have been wanting… I wonder if he ever regrets saying that? LOL I buy a few at a time and they are “can’t live without” item!

  116. I purchased my first Copic markers R20, R22, R24 in 2009 and have been ever lovingly adding to the family. I think I have over 230 little Copic babies now. I swear I treat them like my children I love them so much. LOL. They travel with me wherever I go. People always think they are tubes of makeup or the little tubes that blood goes in. YIKES…I don’t want to give that much blood. Thanks for a chance to win.

    Hugs and love

  117. I really don’t remember when I bought my first copics. It has probably been a couple of years. I have yet to go to a class, there have been none near me. I do enjoy using them but think I need a little more help.

  118. I haven’t purchased my first Copic marker yet. I’ve read a lot about them lately and think they sound really cool.

  119. Ooooh, it’s been a little while, maybe three years ago? since I bought my first Copic marker (a set, actually). Been working on collecting the rest of them ever since!

  120. I purchased my first copic marker about five years ago and have continued to purchase since then. Thanks for the chance to win.

Hi Lori, I purchased some copics around 7/11. I bought a set of skin tones, some pastels and a set B. Like most I don’t know if enough of the right colors for blending. Knowing the best way to select the right colors would be helpful!

  122. I bought my first Copic markers at an art/craft supply store in St. Mary’s, Ontario, about a half-hour drive from home. I bought them in the very early spring of last year, which makes my Copic adventure about a year old. My first colours were BG10, E00, and E02 and a blender.

  123. Hi Lori, I purchased my first copic 4 years ago. As I only use one end of the copics I would like to see the sketch at one end and the copic at the other end. This way I would have the best of both all in one. I use the sketch for flowers and leaves or fine areas that I need to color. Both are great! Thank you for the opportunity to win. Sarah

I purchased my first Copics about 4 years ago. I had no idea what I was doing, just bought several in my favorite colors. Little did I know there were “Families” to pay attention to, or the most important colors to have in each of those families when you start out. I’ve come a long way!

  125. oh goodness-when did I get my first marker? A few years ago I got my first marker, and now I am hooked, you should see how many I have!! I’ve also managed to get a few of my fellow scrappers and co-workers (I work at a craft store) hooked!

  126. about a year ago, have been in love with them ever since have about 20 hoping for more.

  127. Oh my, how long ago? Does forever count? I started buying them after I found a list (from Ellen Hutson, I believe) that listed matching colors for SU colors. I used 40% off coupons and bought them from Hobby Lobby about four years ago (best guess).

  128. I purchased a set of 12 Copics about 3 years ago. Been buying suggested color combos ever since.

  129. I think I got my first Copics for free at a stamp convention. For every $20 spent, one marker was free. I’d never heard of them, but signed up for a class as soon as I located one. Then I got certified and taught for a year and a half. I own all the markers except for just a few of the grays.

  130. I bought my first Coptic marker in oct 2009

  131. I was first introduced to copic makers by Marianne at Kumoricon back in 2005 or 2006 after watching her demo I went and bought an entire set of sketch it was a combination of Set A and B. I had fallen in love these markers and continue to use them daily.

  132. I think it was 2 years ago that I bought my first Copic marker and have been gradually adding colors every since.

  133. I don’t honestly remember when I bought my first Copic, but I think it was about 2 years ago. I love those markers!

I used my first copic about three years ago. I was only going to use them for skin tones. Then I added hair colors. Then I realized that I had them all over the color wheel but no blending colors. Now I nearly have them all. lol.

  135. It was 2 years back when I was reading Colleen’s blog!

  136. I bought my first Copic Sketch just about a year ago!

I purchased my first three copics about 2 years ago. My collection is now up to 109 and growing! They are addictive… we all know! This book would be an amazing tool to have. My fingers are crossed!!!

  138. I purchased my first Copic marker Nov. 2011 and it was E00. It just ran dry yesterday and I guess I must have bought a dud because I had only colored about 15 small digi stamps with it. It was purchased at Michaels so I’m guessing it was either old stock or had been tested too many times.

  139. I love my Copics. I got my first markers about 2 years ago and haven’t looked back. It would be awesome to win.

  140. I bought my first 5 copics at an Art store in December 2009…got a few more that Christmas… now I have a LOT of them and use them as often as I can. I love to colour with them!! Thanks for a chance to win!

  141. When?? Um…it was some time in late 2008, so probably around November? I had my Copic certification class on my birthday in April, 2009. I’m still waiting to take the intermediate certification. Some day….

  142. UHM? I will say about 2009…. I started to collect them… I took my certification with Colleen… and was still afraid to use them.

  143. This looks like a GREAT kit to get started! I hope I can win 🙂
