For I Consider…

For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared to the glory which shall be revealed in us. ~ Romans 8:18

Quite possibly my favorite Scripture. Without a doubt the one that gives me courage and hope no matter the circumstance. When my grandpa passed away in 2004, I was searching my great-grandmother’s Bible for words of comfort and peace. The Bible fell open to Romans 8 – already my favorite passage for several other reasons – and this verse was circled, square in the center of the page. No trial, tribulation or heartache on earth can hold a candle to the ‘glory that will be revealed in us’.Heartache lingers. Hope shines brighter.

A while back I had passed a note to my friend, Julee at Verve Stamps and mentioned that I loved this verse. I got teary last week when I opened an envelope from her with a beautiful card and this sentiment stamp from her pending release this Friday fell out.  Julee has the most incredible way with sentiments, and it meant a lot that she created the stamp and thought of me. Thank you, Julee!

I put the stamp to use right away, and realized yesterday that I would be sending this card to a dear friend who has lost her grandmother this week. I hope it brings her a shred of comfort in the rough days ahead.
