I actually stamped this card a week or so ago to celebrate Lisa Stahls’ 30th Birthday at CHF. I was hosting my masking technique. Pretty Birds by Kim Hughes is perfect for masking. Her clean lines are easy to cut out. I thought my card needed a little ump-pha, and that I would turn the tree into a fruit tree using my Dew Drops (Flame). The orange matches the orange of Mr. Owl’s beak.
I started by stamping my owl on Cryogen White and then stamping the owl on a piece of post it note. I cut out the owl on the post it and placed it over the original. Then I stamped the branch underneath my owl. Now it looks just like he’s sitting on the tree. Actually, I just keep the owl on the post it note in the case with my Pretty Birds set. I use it over and over. 🙂 I colored the image with Copics, layered with Nestabilities and added a few simple layers for color.
We are in the midst of an ice storm, and we have not seen the sun in DAYS! I am expecting to lose power sometime in the night and not sure when I’ll be back. Limbs are already cracking around the house, and y’all know I have lots of tall, tall trees. I’m going to timestamp this for tomorrow morning, and I’ll be back when I can.
