Happiness is New Rubber!

I was so excited to provide convention display samples for Stampin’ UP! again this year. The demo training team is just awesome to work with. This is a card I made today with the sets Happiness and Think Happy Thoughts from the Fall 2007 Collection catalog. (editted to add: The actual convention samples were completed quite a while back. I didn’t want anyone to think I was spoiling anything for the convention goers! What you’ll see here is me playing around, waiting for my first new catalog order!)

I cut the Happiness Background stamp & wood block apart to work with it. I liked the images independent of each other. Makes using the stamp-a-ma-jig so much easier for things like this. Although, I will warn you, it’s not as easy to use the stamp-a-ma-jig on long, narrow images like the polka dots, the word or the stripes. It’s very hard to get a good, clean repeat impression on the end of the stamp not close to the jig. Also, cutting the wood block requires an extra amount of wood. There is no room to spare on the one that comes with the set, and the saw blade will eat up too much of your wood block. It’s dark outside, or I would take a few pictures for you. Check back, and I’ll try to give you a visual.

I did use the jig here to stack the reverse flower stamp to make it wider. I hope you can’t tell where the 2 stamped images butt up to each other. This is Groovy Guava and Chocolate Chip color scheme. The ribbon is from my stash that I obtained at the Fabric Barn when I was at SoCal Stamp Mania – we were trying to find ribbon matches based on photos that cruise-sneak peekers had posted. We didn’t do too bad here, did we? The polka dots on the brown are from the Three for You set in the new punch box.

Thanks for looking! I’ve got a few more snippets to work on tonight, and I’ll upload some more new things tomorrow!
