Up for the Challenge?

From time to time, I participate in the SCS Daily Challenges. This week, I am determined to complete one for each day. So, it’s Tuesday, and I am a little behind, but I am going to get going. I needed a card for a friend who is going through a rough time right now. She knows that ‘this to shall pass’, but I wanted to send her a word of encouragement.  Here the Word: “The Lord also will be a refuge for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble.”

Here is the Technique Lover’s Challenge for yesterday. The challenge was for a Criss Cross Card.

Bashful Blue makes up the main component of the card. The only ink used on this cardstock is Close to Cocoa Craft ink. I stamped the Paisley BG first and heat set to dry. Then I overstamped with the same ink using Carte Postale from the Winter Mini Catalog. The dove and flourish images were then embossed with Detail Clear Embossing Powder. The big Bazzill blossoms are coated with Stickles and double-stacked. The CindyRibbon rik-rak is adhered with Tacky Glue. A thin line works great, dries clear, holds well.

The inside panel slips out to reveal Psalm 9:9. The background stamp on this panel is my beloved, Damask Background. This stamp had a short-lived life in the Holiday Mini Catalog, 2005. The image is one of my all-time favorites from Stampin’ UP! I was very disappointed when it was retired so quickly, but in my collection it will remain.

OK ~ so I am off to complete Tuesday’s Color Challenge!
