Let’s Stick Together

Super fun and easy sketch from CPS this week.  I loved this darling owl set from our sponsor, The Stamps of Life. The owner Stephanie is just the sweetest! It’s called MoreOwls2Love. The owl was stamped with ClearSnap Mix’d Media ink and embossed with clear powder. I added a few die cut labels and googlie eyes…called it done. 🙂

I’ll be back in the morning with another fun sketch for you to try. I’m off for a fun day of football with family and friends.

Guns UP! Go Texas Tech Red Raiders!

Thankful and Bursting with Love

I’ve mentioned a few times that I’ve started running in the last two years. This morning, I’m thankful for a new personal record (fastest 4 miles ever) and good friends (on and off the running course) who encourage and inspire me…my life is blessed, and I’m bursting with love.

Thanks for joining us for the Taylored Expressions Thankful Blast from the Past blog hop! This darling set, Love Everywhere, has been a TE favorite of mine from Taylor since it’s release in January, 2010. Today, I’ve paired it with Echo Park paper, cute clouds and a sweet picket fence border cut with my  Taylored Dies. Very fun.

I’ve been burning the candle at both ends the last few weeks with lots of great stuff going on at Splitcoast and planning for some fun things in the new year. This morning, I’m going to put it in low gear long enough to make a cup of coffee and enjoy hopping through to see the fabulous creations shared by Taylor’s friends and fans. 🙂 Here’s a full list of hoppers so you can enjoy them too:

I’ll be back in the morning with a great sketch from the CPS Sketch Team. Hope you have a wonderful Wednesday!

How about a Sweet ‘n Sassy WINNER!?

Just poppin’ in to say thanks for all of the lovely comments on my Sweet ‘n Sassy post from last week. Loved hearing from each of you. I was lucky enough to have some blog candy hidden here as a treat for you! How’s that for fun?!

Congratulations to Shannon White! If you want to check out the Sweet ‘n Sassy blog, Miss Korin has some pretties waiting for you! YAY!

I’ll be back tomorrow for the Taylored Expressions Blast from the Past blog hop! See you soon!

THANKFUL

Welcome to Taylored Expressions Sketch Challenge #150! What a great sketch-spiration milestone!

I’d love to make 150 of these cards in the next few weeks. I have so many things and people to be thankful for. Since I know 150 is a stretch, I opted for clean and simple, and hopefully, I can make a dozen or so!

I used the set Thankful. I am so crazy about that wheat image…wheat and sunflowers in the same set! This Kansas girl is in love!

This is going to be the last Taylored Expressions sketch for 2011, so I hope you find time to play along. You can find all of the details of how to play and what you can win HERE.

My sample is very clean and simple this week, but you can see lots of other styles with by checking out the sketch crew:

It’s opening weekend of deer season here, so the girls and I are spending the weekend with my mom and dad. Looking forward to a little downtime with my family and maybe a little Christmas shopping.

Hope your weekend is full of wonderful! Thanks for stopping by!

12 Days of Christmas

Quick post today in between the hustle-and-bustle of work and my crazy ole family-life! My friend Kellie from JustRite is hosting a Christmas Linky Party with 7 days of ideas. I had time on Sunday to play with O Christmas Tree.  What fun!

I love the detail of the words to 12 Days of Christmas in this tree. The whole tree is only 2 1/4″ tall. Isn’t that gorgeous wording in the image? LOVE it. The green trees were punched from pattern paper with the Stampin’ Up! mini pennant punch. The stump was stamped from another image in the set. Easy. Peasy.

You can easily join the fun with the Linky Party! All of the details are HERE!

  • Stamps: O Christmas Tree – JustRite Stampers
  • Cardstock: Shimmery White & Crate Papers
  • Ink: Pomegranate and Espresso inks – Stampin’ Up!
  • Accs: scallop border die – MFT Dienamics, pennant stamp – Stampin’ Up!, flower, twine and bling (Hero Arts)

Arise, Shine for Thy Light is Come!

Happy Monday Morning to you! I had some much needed time at my stamp desk this weekend, and I’ve got something Sweet ‘n Sassy to share this morning! I’m one of 36 fun stops on the Sweet ‘n Sassy 4th Birthday Blog Hop!

I’ve had the pleasure of knowing Korin (the beautiful inside and out owner) since almost day one of Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps. She’s a lady that is full of great ideas, joy and grace. I adore working with her, and I was very happy when she asked me if I would help them celebrate their birthday because I had several Sweet ‘n Sassy sets that needed some ink!

For my card I used the Christmas Light set and die. I *love* this set. I was so impressed with how easy it was to cut the candle die with all of it’s detail and then stamp perfectly into the die cut piece of cardstock. The stamps are clear, and it worked beautifully the first time!

My candle image is colored with Copic Marker and set with Echo Park paper. The kraft colored doily is from my stash of Maya Road, and the Small Scalloped  Border die cut is from MFT.

The thing that I really love about this card is that even with a few dimensionals, it’s relatively flat and has no hard embellishments…easy to mail. I think I’ll be making a few more because the image was really a cinch to color.

As I mentioned up above, we have 36 stops so the hop, and it will take place over three days – feel free to take your time visiting each blog!  You have until 11:59pm EST November 9th to leave comments on as many blogs as you can.  On Saturday, November 12th Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps will announce FOUR winners (chosen at random from comments on random stops along the hop); each lucky winner will receive a prize pack including stamps, dies, paper & twine valued at $40!

If you have been following along already you should have come from Mary Marsh.  If you stopped by to see me and want to start at the beginning, head to the SNSS blog and go from there.  Also, don’t forget to comment on as many stops as you can for your chance of winning one of the fabulous prize packs! 🙂

Your next stop on the hop is Kim O’Connell.  Just in case there are any hiccups, here is the whole list of celebrants on this party train:

  • Stamps: Christmas Light stamp set & die bundle – Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps
  • Cardstock: XPress It Blending Card & Echo Park Christmas
  • Ink: Rich Cocoa Memento
  • Accs: Mini Scalloped Border Dienamics – MFT, Kraft doily – Maya Road and Copic Markers (YG61, YG63, YG67, R30, R32, R35, R37, B61, YR30, YR31, Y23 and Y28)

You’ve Blessed my Life

Happy Sunday! My favorite day of the week. I spent a heavenly Saturday stamping for this week’s CPS Sketch! It’s sketch #243 for those of you playing along and interested in prizes from our sponsors. This week our sponsor is the fabulous Want2Scrap.

I do enjoy using their bling, and I love that I can color the silver and white bling with my Copic Markers. On this card, I used silver Kimmie bling and colored with the chisel end of my YR18 marker. This is easier and cleaner than using the airbrush. You can control the ink so that you you don’t end up with ink speckles on your clear adhesive behind the rhinestones.

I used a new set from Taylored Expressions for this project. The set is called Thankful. Beautiful fall images to color. {love}

After church today, I’ve got some major cleaning to do in the office. It’s just about time to go full speed into Christmas crafting, and I have a feeling I’ll need to find a few of my favorites that have gone MIA … you might notice no kraft cardstock or linen thread on this project. LOL.

See you in the morning with something special! Have a great day!

Have a BEE-UTIFUL day!

How about a bee-utiful release day from Taylored Expressions? I’ve been eye-ing Taylor’s design team’s fabulous creations all week, and now, all of the new products are available for purchase at the TE Store -you can find them under Fresh Out of the Oven.

They’ve been giving stuff away all week long and the design team has a great line up of inspiration again today. Did you win one of the Mystery Baker’s Dozen Blog Giveaways? The winners and pretties are posted here.

There were so many things I liked in this release (sunflowers!), but I chose this set from new TE line, Embracing Grace, Love Grows Here for my first project to share. It’s so versatile for season-to-season cards and easy to color. I know it will be a favorite of mine. I am really looking forward to seeing what else new artist, Emily Burger will have for us in the coming months!

My bee-utiful tree was colored with Copic (YG11, YG13, BG000, E21, E23, E25, Y35 and W1). Glitter and Spica Glitter Pen give it a little bing. It’s put together with Echo Park Paper. Like I said, a great set for quick to assemble, sweet sentiments for the entire year!

If you’ve never purchased from Taylored Expressions, I’ll tell you one of the reasons that I am a loyal customer (and am elated to be guest designing for them the next few months)… the packaging. Of course, I love the images, but I really appreciate that the EZMount, deeply etched, rubber images come trimmed (without the excess or scrap rubber) on a full color, professionally printed and indexed storage panel. The image you see in the store is beautifully printed on each stamp set panel. It makes storage and finding images later a breeze. Taylor and her team really go the extra mile to make a beautiful presentation with their products, and call me silly, but I appreciate that! I think you’ll be impressed, too!

So, I’m going to check out the other girl’s release day projects and do a little shopping because there are some specific sunflower images that I, ahem, need. You can find all of the design team ideas and pretty inspirations by visiting these beautiful ladies:

I’ll be back soon with more goodies to share!

Have a great day!

Wise Men Still Seek Him

A quick post today to share my CPS Sketch sample! This one was quick and easy (even though I had to start over more than once!) I hope you have a chance to play!

I’m trying to get a few Christmas cards created when I can, we discussed the upcoming Christmas season with our Sunday School class this morning. It’ll be here before you know it…if you believe the big box stores, it’s already here. I love this set, Christmas Blessings from Taylored Expressions. Beautiful message here, and it doesn’t matter whether it’s Christmas or not…wise women still seek Him – 365 days per year.

We’ve been a whirlwind of flurry around here the last month with a crazy, blessed life, but when I got a note from dear Taylor a few weeks ago with an invitation to be a part of the Taylored Expressions design team for the next few months, I could not resist. I’ve been a TE fan from the very first sneak peeks several years ago, and I can’t wait to share a few samples from the upcoming release later this week! Thank you to Taylor and her team for having me!

(Sherrie Siemens, Debbie Olson, Nancy Zenke, Me, Jenn Balcer, Sharon Harnist, Colleen Schaan and Marianne Walker)

I told you I’ve been busy the last few weeks, and I sure wasn’t kidding. I’ve spent a good part of the last week in Eugene, OR for Copic planning meetings for the upcoming year. It was such a productive trip! The team did cut out at a tad bit early one afternoon and head to the coast for dinner. Here’s our team at a scenic overlook near Florence, OR.  Beautiful scenery. Beautiful women.

I’m glad to be home, and I’m looking forward to sharing some fun things with you this week. Have a wonderful Sunday! Hugs ~

Take Flight

It’s sketch time! Since Taylored Expressions is a proud sponsor of the Hope You Can Cling on SCS, we’re combining this week’s sketch challenge with sketch crew member Jami‘s Hope You Can Cling to Challenge to create a holiday card incorporating the color pink! I hope you can play along, there are prizes. You can find all of the easy details here.

I chose super sweet, Wings of Joy. This came together quickly with Echo Park Season’s Greetings paper and Take Note 3 die. White Flower Soft was perfect for his little Santa hat!

You can see lots of sketch-spiration by checking out the sketch crew:

I’ll be returning home this afternoon from a great week of meetings with the Copic team. I’m really looking forward to 2012. I have some fun pictures to share, but it will have to wait until I can resize them in a day or two.

I hope you’ll find some time to stamp this weekend! Hugs ~
