Hunka Burnin’ Love

hunka-hunka-lcraig-052808.jpg

Working with this Elvis is… Backgrounder is like having an entire hip sentiment collection on one backgrounder. I used the words ‘hunka burnin’ love’ and ‘dreamy’ and a marker to accent my shipping tag. Wouldn’t this be cute tied to a pair of flaming boxers for your man on Father’s Day!? Of course, I’m not going to post men’s flaming unders here on my blog, but you can imagine how fun that would be….right?

tag-lcraig-052508.jpg

I started with a regular manilla shipping tag that I ‘rangerized’ using Distress Inks, cut and dry foam and a water mister. Then I overstamped with my new Vintage Ledger Scrapblock (TM) from CHF in Pitch Black Adirondack. These huge hunks (Scrapblocks (TM)) of rubbah (6×6) are being released next week. At 6×6, you are not confined to either portrait or landscape for your card design..either works! Added my Elvis, glitter with a Tsukineko Glue Pad (I use a stamp-a-ma-jig to over-stamp my glue), sentiment stamp and the backgrounder words ‘marked off’ with a black marker and a romantic swirly-do from the Rummage Bin Beautiful set,  heart shaped brads and ribbons.

See you in the morning…

Challenge Chicks 02 – Tim Holtz Distress Ink

distress-ink-challenge-lcraig-040708.jpg

The CHF Challenge this week is to use Tim Holtz Distress Ink Pads on your card or paper crafting project. I chose to create my background by laying color from my Distress Ink Pads directly onto a craft mat, spritzing with water and then dabbing the cardstock into the color. Here I have used Shabby Shutters and Broken China. I used Cryogen White cardstock, and the trick is to not over saturate the cardstock and to dry with a heat tool in between swipes. When you are satisfied with the color, you can over stamp with your focal image and sponge the edges.

Own Elvis’s Guitar!

pick-case-lcraig-32608.jpg

Yes today, you can own Elvis’s Guitar without shopping eBay or making the trip to Graceland! The guitar image is new from CHF. My daughter, Ashley is FOREVER losing guitar picks (I couldn’t even find one for the photo shoot! LOL). I am hoping this little altered tin will help her keep track of them, as it is the perfect size to slip into her case or sit on her dresser. I kept it very basic because I didn’t want anything catching or ripping off, she’s not the most gentle 7 year old on the altered objects, if you know what I mean.

  • Stamps: Elvis’s Guitar & All Shook Up – Cornish Heritage Farms

  • Cardstock: Georgia Pacific White

  • Ink: Rasberry, Shell Pink & Black Adirondack

  • Accs: Daisy D – rub on tapes

Thanks for stopping by. 🙂

Rummage Bin & Dutiful Wife

little-people-1-lcraig-030908.jpg

What does any sane person do when they’ve laid awake for almost an hour at 2:00 a.m.? They get up and stamp. There is a new Rummage Bin release this week, and Lesley has blown me away with these stamps. This one is called Little People. The little girl resembles someone we are close to in our family, and I can’t wait to make something just for her. For now, you can oogle my mid-night card. The sentiment (also from the Rummage Bin says “to love with all your heart”. You can see other fabulous samples on the blogs of the CHF team: Alli, Lesley (Rummage Bin Artist), Lisa Silver, Lisa Strahl, Kristine and Sherrie.
