Seasons Givings Blog Hop

seasons givings blog photo

Welcome, my friends to the 6th annual Seasons Givings Blog Hop! I can’t believe 2017 has come and gone, but I’m thrilled to be hopping today with my favorites and welcoming 2018 with a little bit of papercrafting love for lucky readers. This hop is always a fun way of saying thank you to each of our faithful readers and paper crafting community! So, thank you so very much for stopping by!

If we have never met, my name is Lori Craig, and I love working in our industry. I am the advertising manager for – the largest online resource for stamping and papercrafting with forums and the largest cardmaking gallery in the world. I have also worked for 10 years with Imagination International – known to most as the North American home of Copic Marker. I have traveled North America many times over teaching Copic coloring classes, as well as class for other Imagination International brands, like Tommy Art, Terial Magic, and X-Press It.

FullSizeRender 6Today I’m sharing a Christmas card that I created with Tommy Artmineral paints, Timbrillo Paste (for sparkle and shine!) and Stencil Light Paste. This one was fun!

The white background is simply Stencil Light Paste through a swirl stencil design, set aside to dry. The ornaments were painted with a mixture of mineral-based paint and Timbrillo paste, then lightly sanded to release the sparkle.  The border was created with smooth and sparkly Silver Deco Glitter Tape from X-Press It! I simply apply the tape to cardstock and die-cut my frame.  The tape works beautifully for these types of die-cuts. Seams don’t show when pieces of the tape are laid side-by-side, and it cuts beautifully.

Here is another project I created with the same products, and you can see the shine! The pieces of painted and lightly sanded cardstock were diecut with flowers and feathers from Taylored Expressions, and stamped with a Taylored Expressions stamp – Light as a Feather. I’ve had a lot of fun with this!

Check out my giveaway!

Happy New Year, I hope 2018 is awesome for you :). My goal is to get my crafting area organized and to learn a few new techniques.

  32. I plan on working with my loom that’s been sitting idle forever.

  33. Thanks for all your work over at Splitcoaststampers.
I will continue making cards, hopefully stretching myself with new products and techniques and also continue to crochet blankets.

  34. I will be stamping and embossing my way through new year. I love crafting. Happy new year.

  35. Beautiful cards. I hope to improve my watercoloring technique in 2018.

  36. First off, I love Splitcoast Stampers! This year, I need to finish up a scrapbook recipe book that I’m making for my daughter. Then I just want to enjoy using all of the stuff I buy (because I love to buy all of the fun new stuff—and then I forget to use it!! I keep using the same old tried and true items I’ve had for years.). I need to get out of that groove!

  37. What I wish to work on and bring in the new year to help enhance my crafting experience is how to be more organize and pace myself better because my body is unable to do things like it use to. Unfortunately, I am currently fighting Lyme Disease. This disease is evil and has changed my body in so many ways. Certain times when I am in a flare up it can really slow down my body and I am unable to do the thing I love the most crafting/creating. Which is working with my mind, body and spirit. Often I am left in a lot of pain and bed ridden. However, I cannot let that stop me or the disease has won. Mind you easier said than done, that is why I want to work on it and enhance my experiences. As it is I am missing out on more in life than I care to think.

  38. I want to make more “just because” cards for my family. Wishing you joy and happiness for the new year!

  39. Lovely projects! Happy 2018 and thanks for the chance to win.

  43. Have a blessed 2018. I make themed cards each month for all my children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, so I will begin that process this week. I am always looking at new techniques to try and inspirational ideas, but hope to master heat embossing this year.

Something I have always wanted to try, as I have extensive experience in gauche & oils, but was never really interested in watercolors…….until recently. I plan to continue those classes…..even if I find them maddening & frustrating!
Happy New Year to you & your family!

Happy New Year. Your cards are beautifully colourful, the second on the sentiment is just the best. Card making is 3 months into being a new craft for me, I started it after seeing a designer make a gorgeous card on you tube by accident & I thought wow I want to do that. So I’m on a huge learning curve with inks, alcohol markers etc blending ink is currently a total mystery to me, I end up with masses of little circles that look like an imp went skating over my card, lots of people have given me advise & currently it’s not working but I’ve ordered new inks & I will start over.

  122. Awesome work on these
cards and I hope to use
    my Oxide Inks more
    this year. Happy New

Last year some stamps and stencils that I designed were released. I hope to continue doing that. I am also hoping to learn pottery from a friend who is setting up her studio and of course improve my coloring skills. I am also eyeing the alcohol markers and hope to add some in my stash.

My father always said that something made by your hands was the best gift. This past year I lost my mother and when cleaning out her house to put on the market we came across a box with every last card (other things too) that any of her children ever sent her. I think I have been creating since I was 4 years old. Thanks for asking and Happy New Year.

  198. Cards! I plan to make (and give) lots and lots of cards! Mostly encouragement and ‘just because’ cards, because I feel like everyone could use a bit more encouragement! In fact, that’s why I started making cards in the first place! I received an encouraging handmade card from a blog reader in early 2017, and it shocked me how much joy a card could bring in a difficult time. It was just bits of paper, creatively glued together… but it rocked my world. And that’s how I got into card making! I wanted to send rays of sunshine to others too. I’m still learning, and ‘setting up’ my craft room slowly (as health and finances allow), but I’m having a ball! And so are the recipients of my cards so far! ^_^
