Childhood Flashback & Crafty Collision

Last weekend I was somewhere on the internets, and I found a link to an altered artist store on Etsy, PaperCuts by CoreyMarie. I truly couldn’t hit BUY NOW and PayPal fast enough.

Four days later this arrived at my doorstep.

When I first clicked into CoreyMarie’s store, this journal was front and center. <gasp> I think I read every single Carolyn Haywood novel when I was in third and fourth grade. I can remember laying on our old, olive green couch with the super big cushions for hours on end reading page-after-page about Betsy, Eddie and Betsy’s sister, Star.  I loved the books so much, that as an adult, I’ve bought them on eBay and Amazon for my own daughters. True Americana.

The next thing about this particular journal that struck me was the use of kraft, ivory and Tiffany blue scattered throughout.

It was meant to be mine, but she’s a lot more beautiful journals and altered fun stuff in the store. I promise I left a lot of pretties for other crafters.

I’m not sure what I’ll do with this just yet, but I’m committed to doing *something*… For the moment, I’m just happy to look at it and recall favorite childhood memories.

I spent most of yesterday painting some crafty storage pieces black to match my office furniture. Love how they turned out. I’ll be back *very* soon with pictures.

Happy Monday!
