New Creation

Behold if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old had gone, the new has come!   2 Corinthians 5:17

Good morning! Taylor whipped up a darling little sketch for the Taylored Expressions sketch challenge this week, and I knew I wanted to focus on Easter.

Palm Sunday to Easter is the most special week of the year, in my opinion. Today, Friday is certainly a painful day to recount and remember Christ’s death on the cross, but behold! Sunday is coming, and a new life is gifted to all who believe. Two-thousand years later, and it’s still the most amazing story ever told.

I used the flower and butterfly images from Summer Afternoon, and the beautiful scripture promise (I love the fonts in this set!) from Rest and Renewal. The creamy and white floral patterned paper is from Making Memories, and the dotted robin egg blue is from Cosmo Cricket’s Mitten Weather. Kraft, of course, for the base and a white flower finish it off.

Happy Easter!

I Woolly Love You!

It’s time for another Taylored Expressions sketch challenge. This one was ‘woolly’ fun! I used Hello Spring for this fun number. I was able to curve the sentiment just a bit to make it work with Banner Day 1 – set and die. The sky background is airbrushed with a piece of scalloped circle for a mask to create the clouds look. My sheep are colored with Copic and glittered up. Fun stuff!

  • I’ve got mountains of work today, but the weekend reward is in sight. We are attending a charity auction in our town tonight, and I’ve got a new dress and my dancing shoes ready! I know it’s going to be a very fun, very worthwhile event!

Hope your weekend holds a whole lot of happy! See you soon ~

    Pork of July!

A few weeks ago, the fabulous Miss Libby invited me to be a guest designer for Hambo Stamps. I have worked with Mr. & Mrs. Hambo (Tim and Monica) many times over the last few years. What an honor!

Fourth of July is our favorite holiday to be home and hang out in our little small town America. We have some super fun traditions from morning til night, and I loved this Uncle Ham and Pork of July! It cracked me up! My husband works for a large meat producer, so I think I’ll get some mileage from this pairing.

If you’re feeling like you could use a chuckle, I promise you’ll crack up a time or two browsing through the Hambo store.

Many thanks to the Hambo team for inviting me to play along this week! It’s been fun!

    Thank You So Much

I’m hopping with my good friend, Sharon, and a few of the Copic girls with a sample for the JustRite Color Challenge this morning. I love challenges, for sure. Sharon asked us to create a card using colors from the inspiration photo. I was also drawn to the texture.

I consider this another clean and simple card…something that is key for me to practice if I’m ever going to send any cards out in the mail. I think I’m actually sending this one in a padded envie, one of those clear acetate card boxes would be pretty, too and really make the recipient take notice.

For my card, I used You’re So Sweet, which might be my favorite JustRite set sever. Pretty graphics and BEAUTIFUL fonts with simple and gracious sentiments ~ Thinking of you, Thank you, You’re So Sweet and Just Because. I’ll be grabbing this over and over.

Here’s your inspiration photo. I’m antsy to see what the other girls created today:

As for other things in my life, I’m very happy with the American Idol vote last night, and I’m gearing up for a wild weekend. It’s going to be slam packed with family activities for the girls, and I’m already thinking a Monday morning nap will be looking awfully good. Have a good one, and I’ll see you really soon!
