Hello, Cowboy!

A hard refresh (COMMAND-R for Mac lovers or CTRL-F5 on PC) will ensure you are seeing the latest post on this blog.

When I saw this new Tim Holtz set, Wild West, from Stampers Anonymous it could not get it into my shopping cart fast enough. I’m quite sure I didn’t take a full breath between ‘add to cart’ and ‘confirm purchase’. I guess you could say I have a thing for cowboys. Always have. Always will.

Both of these cards work for yesterday’s Color Challenge at Splitcoaststampers. Not much to say about the design. I changed the papers up on each one (top card uses Portrait Collection from Crate and the bottom sample uses Wanted from Cosmo Cricket), and I’m pretty happy with how quickly these came together.

Here’s a quick picture of my favorite cowboy. This man is a constant reminder of God’s prevenient grace at work in my life.  The Lord gave me what I needed when I didn’t even know what to ask for. I am blessed beyond measure.

Have a wonderful Wednesday, my friends.

  1. Not everybody likes or can handle a cowboy or even likes them. Not everybody understands the abrubt honesty, the swagger, the lifestyle that is from the inside out a cowboy. I have always heard “don’t call him a cowboy till you see him ride,” but recently heard my Grandfather (a long time real life horse raising, cattle hearding cowboy) say “Don’t call him a cowboy till you know what is inside.” He is a man of few words and I guess in his own way he was saying “Don’t judge a book by it’s cover,” but with cowboys I think it rings even more true.

You can take the boy out of the country, but you can NEVER take the country out of the boy!

  2. Your card looks wonderful, Lori!
    Big cyber hugs

  3. I’ve certainly made purchases like that, Lori. Your card is awesome, and the fact that the set has meaning because of your own cowboy makes it even sweeter. Great card 😉

  4. I just love your card!!!
    Nice work!

  5. I am gratefull that I am your Cowboy! But I do have one question.
Do you EVER take a breath between the add to cart and confirm ourchase? It just seems to come so natural for you. – Love DH

  6. Dear Cowboy Wes,
We are grateful that you’re Lori’s cowboy and that you’re oh-so-accommodating in all that we papercrafters do. You’re my favorite cowboy, too. . . in a totally platonic, I almost envy your wife’s finding you kind of way. 🙂 Hugs from your wife’s office-mate!

    Dear Lori,
Yeeeeeehaw! 🙂 Love this card! Cyberstamping later?

  7. Ha — yep, busted! Does he get extra brownie points for figuring out how to even leave a comment? 🙂

  8. Great card! The reading is totally entertaining, too! Thanks for the chuckle after a long day at work!! See you Saturday.

  9. lol…I’m not sure if I like the cards or the comments best! I sure am glad that you ordered the stamp! What fun! Your cards are wonderful, and your handsome man is a definite keeper! Hugs…

  10. And those who know you know that your cowboy is blessed to have you in his life as well!

  11. Love this card. I enjoy western themed cards a great deal. I love Professional Bullriding so a little of me is a bit “cowboy” but only from a distance as I’m much more a city girl then a country kinda gal.

You seemed very blessed with the Cowboy in your life. I’ve got me a special guy too even if he’s more of a biker kind of guy then a cowboy. Loved that your hubby commented on your blog. Mine doesn’t even know how to find my blog! I still love him anyway.

  12. Love this card, SWEET Lori — and this post gave me warm fuzzies! 🙂

  13. Love it Lori!!! 🙂

  14. I was going to say how wonderful your cards are (and they are absolutely), but it was that last paragraph that brought tears – you are truly blessed indeed!! {hugs}

  15. Hi Lori, I have never seen this image before and it is a perfect masculine image. Your cards are great. Thanks for doing the ever difficult man card. What a sweet picture of your husband and daughter. I bet they think that they are blessed too. Have a great weekend.
