WT150: Painted Blooms?

I just got a shipment of Ranger Crackle Paint from CHF on Tuesday, so this Ways to Use It challenge was perfect timing for me! I also thought it high-time my Grid Paper Backgrounder saw a little ink. This was totally out of the norm for me, and I love the results. Here’s how I did it:

I needed a jumping off point, and CPS Sketch 48 gave me the jump-point I needed. I cut a piece of acetate (overhead transparency) to make a 4.25″ square card. On the card front, I stamped the single bloom from Silhouette Blooms II in Timber Brown StazOn. On the inside of the front half, I stamped the Grid Paper Backgrounder in Timber Brown StazOn. Then, on the inside of the front half (on top of the grid background stamped image) I painted a sort of rectangle in Shabby Shutters Crackle Paint. This provided the backdrop I needed to highlight my single bloom on the card front. To make the stamped images really pop, I attached a scalloped square piece of Poison Ivory to the inside back of the card. Accented it with a few petals from Silhouette Blooms I, tied my ribbon and added a quick tag. This was so super fast, and it came together just like I envisioned. I love it when that happens. All supplies with exception of ribbon, cardstock and acetate from Cornish Heritage Farms.

I’m going to be stamping up a storm. I’m prepping Beate’s sketch for tomorrow and some fun, fun stuff from Lizzie Anne. Hope you get a chance to stamp today. See you soon.
