Sunflower Days

We spent the better part of yesterday in a sunflower field, training our 9 month old yellow labrador, Walker, for hunting season. The flowers were gorgeous. Evidently, it’s full blown sunflower season in Texas, too. Check out Sharon’s beautiful Sunflower Fields. The flowers are so pretty right now, and just the right inspiration to pair with the Technique Lover’s Challenge today and new Cornish Heritage Farms rubber, Vintage Sunflower Backgrounder

The Vintage Sunflowers are stamped in Brilliance Pearlescent Chocolate on Curious Iridescent Poison Ivory cardstock from CutCardstock.com. I received some of this cardstock in an order back in the winter and have been hooked ever since. It’s just like the SU! Shimmery White, only Vanilla colored.  I let the Chocolate ink dry while I was doing some other household chores (ok…I was really watching Design Star, don’t tell my husband!) and then colored in.

I had a very difficult time trying to photograph this to catch the shimmer and the extra Chocolate cardstock layer. I have to figure out how to use my camera.. photography classes? Anywho ~ the stamped vanilla panel is mounted on a 2nd layer of Chocolate cardstock and the edges distressed slightly. It helps give the stamped panel extra emphasis without being overwhelming or too busy. The color is off, but hopefully, you can see what  I mean by the double matting.
